I like Disturbed, they're nothing earth shattering but the songs are enjoyable and theyre good live. I do agree that it's time for them to step away though. Give bands like asking alexandria more spotlight (sarcasm)

Disturbed was a descent band for a while but Asylum sounded like they just packed it in. Good thing they are taking a break from music. Maybe when they come back, if they come back, they will have a whole new sound. Hard rock and metal are not dying and neither is the music industry. They just need to realize that numetal died years ago.

Like all their music, honestly though I thought they were taking a break just because they ran out of ideas. Being consistent can only be interesting for so long. I think this all just sounds like a dumb ass excuse to be lazy and quit trying to come up with anything new.

So what if it's the demise of hard rock and metal (even tho I don't believe this is true), what happened to playing cos you love it, go underground for a while and when hard rock is popular again you'll come out the otherside stronger for it.

Also a hiatus is exactly what this band needs. Might give them the time to come up with enough ideas for an album which isn't 70% filler.
