I knew that last album seemed half-assed. Now the only question is who was dictating that direction.
|
| |
Loads of people quitting/giving up at the moment...
|
| |
Why am i not surprised?
Loomis and Williams must have been really annoyed by the re-launching of Sanctuary, i can't think of another reason for this happening...
I knew that last album seemed half-assed. Now the only question is who was dictating that direction.
It was half-hearted. That's indeed a good question.

god dayum

Heard about this earlier today, and damn. To me, Nevermore was always Loomis and Dane, so this is pretty much a shock. I never listened to The Obsidian Conspiracy all the way through, so I wouldn't know, but still. I wonder the real reasons. Voivod might have it right.
|
| |
damn it...one of the best bands out there.
|
| |
Really didn't see this coming at all.
Don't know how they could go on without Loomis.
|
| |
lol, Loomis is Nevermore. Should just shut er' down altogether.
|
| |
As someone who's been optimistic regarding news like this in bands I like lately... They're done for. It's just not the same without Loomis.
|
| |
this sucks nevermore is one of my fave bands and loomis is a superb guitarist wondering how they gonna manage without him in the band??
|
| |
Not good. Both Loomis and Danes' solo efforts showcased great talent with poor songwriting. They really need to be together to make it work.
|
| |
Noooooooooo! Without Jeff Loomis, there is no Nevermore! We're doomed!
|
| |
rip
|
| |
Just heard about this yesterday, such shit news.
Apparently the promoter who gets my band alot of shows had these guys booked to play in an upcoming gig but Warrel Dane relapsed and now he's back in rehab. Those are the internal struggles mentioned here.
Oh well The Obsidian Conspiracy stunk anyways.
|
| |
Band is done for.
|
| |
Dane should focus enterly on Sanctuary from now on. I mean, sure he's an amazing singer and probably the most charismatic Nevermore member, but without Loomis and Williams....it won't be the same for sure.
|
| |
Sucks but not really surprised. Their last album seemed like they didn't really care anymore. Loomis was the heart of the band so i do believe they, Nevermore, are pretty much done for now.
|
| |
Yeah, The Obsidian Conspiracy was a big letdown.
|
| |
no loomis no nevermore
hopefully he joins a better band, i'd like to hear him lend his skills to a project with better songwriting
|
| |
Hmm...despite not digging the last effort, nor Loomis' soloing outing either, I find it hard to imagine this band going on without him...Obsidian Conspiracy was a poor excuse for a Nevermore album but nothing worth seeing a band fall to pieces over.
|
| |
Never got into this band before.
|
| |
I was hopin to catch them live at some point...not worth seeing without loomis imo, so there goes that
|
| |
what the fuck? i put this news up yesterday and it never got put through by the mods and now a different thread of the same topic gets put through? what the hell.....Anyway, Nevermore are pretty much done imo.
|
| |
While loomis is amazing, his solo album is very poorly structured wankery, seemed more like personal experimentation than an instrumental album. I look forward to his future stuff but I'm not gonna get too excited about it unless he finds a solid band.
|
| |
It was obviously time for this to happen. Maybe it's surprising, but it's better than what would almost certainly have been an epically bad follow up to the altogether pointless Obsidian Conspiracy. If anything they were an album too late.
|
| |
Loomis is one of my favorite guitarists. Nevermore is done for I guess.
|
| |
It's about time tbh.
|
| |
R.I.P nevermore.
|
| |
R.I.P nevermore. (2)
|
| |
what pisses me off is that i bought a ticket to a metal fest expecting to see nevermore with loomis ofc!!! wtf am i supposed to do now?
|
| |
They should start a death metal band. I would be really excited.
|
| |
Dang.
Here's hoping Williams and loomis join a band with a better singer/someone who can growl. So many nevermore songs sound like piss with singing.
Sucks though, godless endeavor slayed.
|
| |
Band is over and done with.
|
| |
band is fucked
|
| |
Seriously, those two were this entire band. I hope they do something together.
|
| |
Nevermind
|
| |
Damn Nevermore will soon be never more!? ? That didn't come out right.
what pisses me off is that i bought a ticket to a metal fest expecting to see nevermore with loomis ofc!!! wtf am i supposed to do now? Sell it to someone who doesn't know. :D
|
| |
Damn, this band was so good. Last CD had much lacking which I guess lead to some of this decision. This band can't go on without loomis.
|
| |
Yeah, really not sure what's left of this band without Loomis. Not too upset, I love him as a guitarist but Nevermore as a whole never appealed to me all that much.
|
| |
GG nevermore, I never knew thee nor did I care to.
|
| |
loomis was nevermore
|
| |
Bad news D:
but on the upside dane should focus more on Sanctuary, whom i always liked better
|
| |
Loomis and Van Williams were an integral part of the band's sound, I don't see how they can remain as "Nevermore" after this, sure there are many players who can recreate their stuff but it just won't be the same. This is horrible news.
|
| |
loomis was the band

ΝΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟΟ

yes, unfortunately........
|
| |
worst news after Easter vacations
Im Kinda sad right now, but I think it may be better to split rather than release boring albums...
I'm curious of what Dane will do
|
| |
well then, nevermore just died..
|
| |
Welcome to the end, my friends.
The sky... has opened.
