If they did a new album, in order for it to be good they would have to knock Daron back down to backing vocals and keep things the way they were on the self-titled and Toxicity years cause he shit all over Mezmerize/Hypnotize in sharing the vocals with Serj.

i loathed his vocals on those records.
but your right, hopefully he'll be more of backing vocals.
i liked their less-vulgar first 2 records, hopefully songs like Violent Pornography are gone

uh, the whole point of Violent Pornography was to showcase how fucked up people are. you're ass backwards on the logic here.

I probably wouldn't mind Daron's vocals if he didn't act like a douchebag everytime I've seen SOAD. His douchiness colors my tolerance of his ear piercing voice.

He sounds so damn whiney when he sings, but his screams when he backed up Serj on the earlier records were awesome.

i know but i just didn't like that vulgar vibe i got from that album, between that and Cigaro. maybe i worded it wrong, but I'm trying to say I liked Toxicity's vibe better

'Mezmerize' was amazing because Daron stepped up for a lot of the songs, but only as a clean, high-pitched equal to Serj. On 'Hypnotize', he tried to step beyond Serj and ruined the album.

It's odd, really, considering the two albums were made at the same time, but 'Mezmerize' had songs like 'Cigaro' and 'Sad Statue', where they get about the same song time, where as 'Hypnotize' had songs like 'Lonely Day' and 'She's Like Heroine', which Daron sucks it up.

hypnotize was still good though, just pales in comparison to everything else they've done.

ts hard to pick favorites.
but if I had to, i'd say Toxicity just because it has a sentimental advantage for me.

they both have some filler but they are each soad's best.
my personal favorites among those albums are Suite Pee, Sugar, MIND, Forest, Toxicity, Chop Suey, Prison Song and Aerials

So excited SOAD is back on tour! AND, Serj just released a new single with Shirley Manson (from Garbage), it's called "The Hunger", it's from Serj's new rock musical Prometheus Bound, and to make it even cooler, all of the proceeds from the track go to support Amnesty International! It's a really great show, a great song, and such a great cause. You can find it at itunes.com/thehunger
