Reznor to score new film

2011-01-08 by Kiran EMERITUS | 47 Comments
According to an NY Times live interview, Trent Reznor is set to team up with David Fincher again to score the director's upcoming film adaptation of the mega-selling Stieg Larsson thriller, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". This, of course, coming after Reznor's score for Fincher's hugely successful "The Social Network" earned the Nine Inch Nails frontman a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score. The film is scheduled for release in December.

the books are ok. the first books swedish film adaptation is the best thing that's come out of it imo. one thing i didn't get about how the book became so insanely popular is that A LOT of the book is grounded in insight and critique of sweden and swedish culture that i'm surprised people got anything out of.

Missing Cult of Luna and Refused, mainly. There's a lot more I could name but those are definitely my favorite two.

High hopes for this. The Social Network score was one of the best parts of the film, in my opinion. And, make no mistake, it had a lot of great parts.

Ahh, Hollywood forever remaking movies that don't need to be remade.

Even though I still want to see Let Me In.

This is definitely an excellent choice. His score for 'The Social Network' was damn brilliant and added so much to the film. I'm looking forward to hearing what he comes up with.

In Flames best swedish band???? AHAHAH GIVE ME A BREAK. Those guys lost it like 3 albums into their career and will NEVER EVER dig themselfs out of the nu-metal hole they've dug.

Whomever stated CULT OF LUNA, I give you a gold star. Now there's a real band worth mentioning.

original film was great, but i think this will be a good american representation of it. i hope it has a similar feel to Fincher's Zodiac, which I loved. That and Se7en.

Rooney Mara (who was also in The Social Network) will be playing the part. Daniel Craig is playing Blomkvist.

David Fincher has made 2 great films (Se7en and Fight Club), one good film (Benjamin Button), 3 mediocre films (The Game, Zodiac, The Social Network), and two bad films (Alien3, Panic Room).

That's not a very good track record. Now he's unnecessarily remaking foreign films. I give up on this guy - his best work is way behind him. Now he's messing around.

As far as the score for TSN goes, it worked well with the film but basically sounded like more Ghosts material, which I wasn't a huge fan of.

Reznor and Fincher were both wasting their time with The Social Network, and they're wasting their time with this as well. It's disappointing.

Fight Club and Se7en are not his best films. The Social Network trumped both by a mile, and even Benjamin Button was better. Those first two movies were good when you discovered them in high school and the blew your mind, after you grow up though, not so much.
