Loved the seldom seen kid, but this song actually tops everything from that album.

If the rest of the new record is as consistently good as this track, we could have a definite classic album here.

agreed. if Radiohead, Portishead and Fleet Foxes release classics too 2011 could be insane!

I've always hated Elbow but that song was really really good. Reminded me a bit of R.E.M.'s Nightswimming, but even more threadbare.

I hope the studio version is almost identical to this version, though. It really doesn't need any studio tinkering if the live cut is this good.

I heard a rumour that the album version would feature a choir. It better not...

I've only heard The Seldom Seen Kid, but I love these guys. He has an incredible voice. This is awesome too, looking forward to the new stuff!

The Seldom Seen Kid was my favourite British album of 2008 and wasn't expecting so much from the follow up but this has totally raised my hopes, so good!

I hope the album version is pretty much the same as this performance as well, but they have used choirs pretty effectively in the past, particularly on "Ribcage".

Anyway, this song is absolutely beautiful... seems like an odd song to start an album with, but it'll probably make sense when it's released.

the keyboard notes with the bass notes being picked sounds a lot like Sigur Ros
