I listened to the interview and I could have sworn it was only suggested. That'd it'd probably be, rather than definitely. I mean, I don't give a shit because I don't like Cog that much, but I remember listening to the interview when it actually aired and it was made completely clear that he could confirm nothing and wasn't sure himself.

It's not so much pedantic, as you can't say a band has confirmed it's broken up when they purposefully refuse to confirm it, regardless of how likely it'll be. That's just bad news reporting.

They hinted at this earlier in the year. They clearly are going to take some time off, but it wouldn't surprise me if they returned together in 3-5 years time.

A pity, but fair call, they realised they'd got the best out of themselves as a band. The New Normal + Just Visiting EP's amazing releases. Sharing Space album wasn't as consistent. Keen to hear their new projects in the future.

This is a sad day for the Aussie scene, but it's been imminent for a while now. From what I've heard, that tour they did a while back of the East coast was supposed to be their final group of shows, so we were lucky they gave us a few more after that. That said, I think it's a real shame to go out on such a quiet note, having created such excellent music over the decade that they've been together.

Tom, they're done. Spoke to Flynn at their last gig in Melbourne- two weeks ago. There's no chance at all of them continuing. To quote Flynn, 'we're done'.

probably because from what i can tell there is only one amorphous aussie prog band thats comprised of 10 musicians that changes its name for a release based on who is singing on given album.

ha ha. That theory has some merit I think. The bands I listed all kick huge amounts of ass though. Dead Letter Circus and Karnivool to a somewhat higher degree than the other two. Will probably check Cog out too. Was on a huge aussie prog kick about a year ago.

I really hope Flynn goes on to do something else, he uses effects very well and I love his voice.
It was highly tipped that the breakup was coming, glad I got to see them a stack of times before they called it quits.
