I've seen these guy's albums at my record store a few times but never shilled out the money for one because i see such polarized views of their stuff.

All their albums just spell out Sigh. Kind of like how Morbid Angel goes A B C D..etc. Should be good, though I was disappointed with the production of scenes from hell...it was a really good album either way.

I'm curious as to the style of this album, its always different, It'd be cool if they did a jazz/metal fusion album with that sax player they have

I stand by my review for Imaginary Sonicscape and my 1 rating has not changed. The album's just a bunch of talentless "musicians" splashing a bunch of terribly cheap takes on electro, psych, black metal and death metal and calling it a masterpiece. Plus the lyrics and the vocals are just hysterically bad.

Hangman's had some cool parts, Me Devil being one of them. Didn't like what I heard about their last record, though.

Hangman's Hymn and Infidel Art were at least tolerable because they weren't ridiculous with unwarranted and unfulfilled pretense, but since those are hands-down their best works, that shows how bad the band really is.

I counted about 5 users out of everyone that commented that dislike Sigh. Yet out of these 5 users not one has offered any semblance of a logical explaination as to why? Based on knowledge of these users I've come to know that all of them are rather ambigious and find it hard to provide a viable thesis statement as to their actual reasoning behind disliking this wondrously whimsical avante-garde black metal band. Seriously though, some of the hate is pretty embarressing to read, and by embaressing I mean how can anyone write comments like these and even expect themselves to be taken the least bit seriously?

Sigh may not be everyone's taste. It is an acquired taste, I had trouble listening to them until Hangmans Hymn and Scenes from Hell, but then everything else was easier to listen after getting used to those albums.
