EMI takes cleaners to the cleaners

2010-10-05 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 18 Comments
Record label EMI has begun legal action against a contracting firm after a collection of Blur photography and film was apparently discarded by cleaners.

The box, which the label claims was marked "Not Rubbish, Do Not Remove," contained film from the English band's classic album Parklife as well as rare photos of the Beatles in their heyday, and was reportedly worth £170,000.

EMI had been looking after the items for photographer Paul Postle, who is said to be "dismayed at the loss of such an important collection."

yeah why would anyone sue if £170,000 worth of items was randomly tossed away by cleaners? that makes no sense at all!

Blur was a major influence for The Beatles before they went on the Ed Sullivan show.

This is why the digital age is good, harder to lose stuff when scanned and even floating across the internet.

Sucks.

You could sue them for negligence. And they would probably win as well.
