I'm really surprised that Chalky sounds pretty good in this.
| |
Wow, he sounds great. This just burned all my doubts alive. I'm nothing but excited.
| |
vocals are alright. riffs are excellent
| |
that intro
was horrible
| |
Spoiler: Spawn of Possession still writes some of the best tech death riffs around
| |
shits awesome.
| |
Dang, new album should be pretty good judging from this.
| |
Hella tight.. So sick even before production....
| |
"Influences: Bach->Blastbeats" I love SoP.
Song is rapesauce. Thats a good thing.
| |
The vocals are absolutely incredible compared to what i was expecting.
| |
if bloozclooz doesnt like it then it must be a good listen
| |
Then if i like it, which i do....
| |
k nvm
| |
Lol
| |
chalkys vocals make this a bit more interesting
| |
just gonna wait till the new cd wont bother with this
| |
sounds a lot like old psycroptic to me, which is a good thing. old psycroptic is probably the only death metal band i like
| |
its like old psycroptic if the guitarist forgot how to be tasteful
| |
Old psycroptic as in scepter? Or isle?
| |
it doesnt really sound much like psycroptic...
| |
Total sex
| |
mmm
| |
Band/ song sucks so hard. They represent everything wrong with metal today (tech/ deathcore sucks).
| |
spawn of possession arent even close to tech/deathcore they r bach death metal duh
| |
I think they fit the deathcore scene but I think it's wrong of me to just outright label them as such. The tech/ death is pretty accurate but I'm still not a fan of them because they have nothing original to offer the genre.
| |
yeah not deathcore
| |
how do they have nothing original for death metal? an argument can be made that they aren't even death metal considering that their songs are more akin to classical arrangements than anything typical within the genre
| |
yeah liledman, you're right. i think it were mainly the vocals, which made me think that. as i read just now, it actually is the old psycroptic singer at work here.
| |
considering that their songs are more akin to classical arrangements than anything typical within the genre
Not even close. I don't see where the hell you get this from. If you count the stupid interludes they threw in their last album, then sure I can see that. Their arrangements are pretty typical to the tech/death genre.
| |
im not talking about the 'interludes.' the music is far more influenced by classical music (mostly baroque + shostakovich) than death metal, and it is very explicit. listen to the version of Scorched that someone put to orchestral instruments and it will become a bit more obvious to you
| |
Anyone who says their music isn't influenced by classical composers probably doesn't actually understand music too well. And anyone who calls them deathcore definitely has no idea what they're talking about.
I generally don't say things like that, I don't like to generalize, but that... those assertions inspire big, deep, belly laughs from me.
| |
fuckin fuck yea
| |
Jesus there be a big smelly troll loose.
| |
Song is better on a second listen. This album is going to be really sick. It better come out soon.
| |
Yeah, Spawn of Possession is totally a scene band. Obvious troll is obvious.
| |

I guess I just don't understand theory too well.
| |
Finally, something. If the rest of the album sounds like this, it will be pretty good. Man, SOP come one with a release date already.
| |
I can kinda understand where Wiz is coming from with them not bringing anything different to the genre but I still think its quality tech death.
