Oasis Members Form New Band

2010-05-26 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 40 Comments
The four remaining members of Oasis - Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock - have put the final nail in the old band's coffin and relaunched as Beady Eye.

The quartet are currently recording their debut album with Steve Lillywhite and expect to release their first single in October.

I don't know if this will be any good. Noel wrote most of the songs for Oasis (the good ones).

Yea seeing how Noel wrote 99% of the songs, I can't see this being good.

Pretty dumb name too.

Nothing will top "You All Everybody." This band is nothing without Charlie Pace.

Entertainment value is gone unless Liam finds someone else to argue/fight with.

Why so much negativity toward Oasis? I see shit on the news feed pertaining to Limp Bizkit, Attack Attack, generic screamo, and scene punk rock all the time, and the comments are all like "this is sooo good". I don't get you some Sputnikers, I just don't get you.

At least give it some time to see how the new band is before you judge on the basis of just their name. Oasis was a talented, entertaining, and sweet band.

Thanks, I realize everyone has a different opinion, it's just that I expected more out of Sputnik's usually supreme news feed. Regularly, I see less and less that sparks my interest. If I wanted to go to Alternative Press' website, I would have.

I basically agree, it's just that this site's "community" or whatever is the sum of its users' tastes, you know?

Liam Gallagher was the vocalist for Oasis. It was Noel, the chief songwriter, who left the band.

Fuckin' love Oasis... will definitely see what both Liam and Noel put out. I'd expect some tunes like "Half The World Away" from Noel while I think Liam's will be more simplistic and straight rocking like "The Meaning of Soul."
