Apparently, Rob Swire gave an interview to Q magazine recently revealing who the artists are. I've searched for it high and low but can't seem to find it, so I won't post it as 'news'.
Apparently one of the collabs is with The Prodigy, another is with a high profile female artist who is big in the states (take your pick), and the big rumour is (and take this with a big grain of salt) is that In Flames will be on the album. And yes, THAT In Flames

Thunderously meh
|
| |
Song is decent enough
|
| |
Tbh that track is pretty terrible. I've caught about half a dozen of the tracks that are scheduled to be on the album; a couple of them actually sound pretty decent. That is, if you ignore the fact that this band released Hold Your Colour
|
| |
I'm taking it from that statement that you didn't like Hold Your Colour, or have I misinterpreted?
|
| |
No, I liked Hold Your Colour, as did a lot of people who then in turn hated In Silico. Some of the tracks on this album are even more far removed than before; for instance there's a bonafide house track on this album
|
| |
Right then, this sounds like one of those albums that I'll probably get out of curiosity and nothing more.
|
| |
Most of the tracks can be found on youtube, they did a gig awhile back demoing the new stuff. Quality isn't fantastic and the MC's all over the tracks, but it could be worth a look if you're interested
|
| |
I have download restrictions, listening to myspace music alone slaughters my limit enough for me to know youtube is a no go. Oh well, when I get a better one I'll give them a good listen.
|
| |
God damn, what happened to this band?
|
| |
Idk, guess they thought they were ahead of the curve
|
| |
lol pendulum. hold your colour was terrible at best, i don't even know how to describe this.
|
| |
Hold Your Colour was good in a novelty type of way. Pendulum pretty much are the starbucks of the d'n'b world though
|
| |
song is ok
|
| |
Dear Pendulum, go and remix some more Prodigy.
|
| |
dear bloc
go and make some lego
models
|
| |
Dear Bloc, why don't you make like a bloc and go party somewhere else?
|
| |
Sup with all teh hatez yo?
|
| |
IN FLAMES?! Holy shit, I don't care if the song is shit, I just need to hear it. xD
And yeah, considering I absolutely adore Hold You Colour and In Silico was a bit meh, I'm not looking that much forward to this. They were saying in interviews that it was meant to be a more successful meshing of the two albums, but I dunno.
|
| |
Pendulum is generally meh on a disc
|
| |
Well, the stuff i've heard can be taken two ways. If you're holding out for Hold Your Colour part 2, you'll hate this. If you're just looking for a cheesy but fun 'dance' album, you'll probably enjoy it. To a degree anyway.
Anyone will tell you that I love house music so i'm actually enjoying this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9yST_rj4TY
But this is meant to be a drum n bass album, so.....
|
| |
Actually, their new single isn't half bad. At the very least it manages some emotion, something In Silico completely missed.
|
| |
They kinda nailed it on The Tempest
|
| |
Oh shit, forgot about that song. But kinda a one off compared to every second song on Hold Your Colour (title track and Still Grey particularly).
|
| |
Yeah i heard that generic electro track it made me lol hard. its like they are constantly trying to musically discredit themselves.
|
| |
If the album is like In Silico, I'm gonna buy a copy so I can take it to Iceland and throw it in the volcano.
EDIT: Watercolour sounds more like Hold your Colour, which is a very good sign.

Hey lol I made an account jus coz of this thread lol
I guess I can see where your all coming from especialy after the release of 'In Silico' hell, even I was slightly taken a-back after listenin to hold your colour, and once again I was also taken a-back after buying 'Immersion' yesterday and listening to it. Thing is I still like every song on the album, as I did with 'In Silico' and I think it's because there's a certain element of ballsiness about it. I recently watched an interview with Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen and they said that they get bored with their music and always decide to head in a new direction even if they piss fans off along the way, and for me thats cool you know? And I think that's why I like them so much they're not afraid to try new things despite wether the fans enjoy it as much or not. I think it's the err inconsitency I guess that appeals to me so much because I never get bored of the variety they produce........ But that's just my opinion lol
