This just barely falls under the category of what I consider to be news, being that it's so cyclical that it's entirely predictable. I mean, is it news when the sun comes up? Is it news when moon becomes full? Is it news when my grandpa takes a crap at the same time every morning? I think the only time Omar deserves a news article is when three weeks have passed and he hasn't released an album.

Seriously though, does this guy ever think that if he maybe cut down his solo releases to *gasp* once a year he might come up with something new and interesting instead of stripped down and brutally beaten versions of The Mars Volta songs.

It's alright. It's fine on an individual song level, just repetitive in larger doses.

this brought a giggle. he's one of the few artists who's expected to do far more than 1 a year. and hey, good for him for keeping busy doing what he loves. and lord knows how much stuff he has that hasn't been released. i think he said in an interview that between every volta album, he's written one that he didn't find worthwhile. guy's a machine.

All the albums are good... Granted there are too many to listen to them all again and again. But, hey, gotta give the man props.

Thsi album is actually really good. I keep giving the majority of Omar albums "4"s (though a couple are terrible and warrant "2"s at best). I don't think this album deserves more than a 4, but I almost want to give it 4.5 just because it's different than all the rest... Really good, reminds me of Charles Mingus w less jazz.

ximenas vocals can get irritating on xenphanes, but its still pretty solid
