cheap shot! this is slightly old, but sputnik hasn't heard it yet.
pros: musicianship in song is really good, tech-breakdown thinger rules (little sweeps?!)
cons: guy has a cool voice but doesn't know how to write a decent melody for shit

Awesome, listening now. Finally Wayeur has a nice avatar.
|
| |
thanks, bloke
you'd probably dig the song but the lack of any vocal decency is grating
|
| |
Done, and song is really good. I was scared that this band would follow the path of "having a shit sophomore". But then again, we got to wait for the new album to make sure.
However, breakdown was sloppy.

Way to have the exact opposite opinion!
|
| |
It's what we do, you know this already.

@someguest: I tried that yesterday, but it just showed up as [a]link[/a] but maybe I just did something wrong.

fancy that. also my internet sucks clearly
|
| |
awww yeah
|
| |
eh not sure what to think of it. Much better than the new Saosin though.

I much preferred Of Machines' album to Great White Whale, but I'm interested in this also...
|
| |
New song is much better than I though it would be. I am happy.
|
| |
sounds fantastic.
|
| |
sounds like classic SAW to me. hope the rest of the album is a little more experimental than this.
|
| |
song is ace i am very much looking forward to the album, and no im sure Cove was not involved haha

Agreed. It's still a great song imo. I'm pumped for the new album.

Was dancing around in excitement when they released the bloody 30 second clip for this!, I can't believe people on sputnik haven't heard this. I Really enjoy this song, but I agree (oddly) with Waior, His voice..kinda is just there, he does his thing and all that, but SAW's true talent lies within their damn near amazing instrumental prowess.
plus they're from Kelowna, that's 2 Hours from where I live!, horray for random facts !

| |
So this was really good...
|
| |
i think the key is to keep your singer in check and keep him away from dreds and flannel. just saying.
|
| |
this really is superb.
|
| |
I've noticed this song suggests improvements in their formula since writing their previous album. EXCITING.
|
| |
"i think the key is to keep your singer in check and keep him away from dreds and flannel. just saying."
haha add "in tune" to that list and you've nailed it
|
| |
it's awesome.
|
| |
yeah you have it. i'll take charles furney over cove rasta anyday.
|
| |
I dug it. The guy who commented on youtube that it sounds a lot like anthony green was pretty spot on. Their musicianship has dramatically improved though, I'll probably end up picking that album up.
|
| |
"However, breakdown was sloppy"
I didn't really notice, but breakdowns don't have to be super nice. They're breakdowns.
Anyway, this is their best song for sure, but the rest of the album had better do more to diversify itself and stand out.
|
| |
I disagree, I think when it comes to breakdowns they should be tight as a scene kid's pants. At least when it comes to a genre like this.
