Kind of meh... never really a great band to start off with.

Quintessence was brilliant, and the Archaic Course was pretty good. But, everything else was uninspired, especially with Vintersorg. His voice rakes at my nerves. The new song is pretty much the same thing.

There is always such a stark division between Vortex fans and Vintersorg fans in reagrds to this band. I think everything with Vintersorg is awesome and the rest is only meh... That being said, I think the song is awesome. Can't wait for this album.

I think the best borknagar album is empiricism.

Song was really good. Borknagar has always been one of my favorite black metal bands.

song was okay. The screams sounded a lot more intense than previous albums.

This song is definitely better than some material from both Empiricism and Epic, so I wouldn't be surprised if Universal is as good as or better than them.

It's unlikely, you're right. However, I think it is really cool how they've combined their traditional black metal roots with the symphonic, somewhat progressive sound they've adopted ever since Empiricism. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah it should still be a great album. I really love all of their albums except for Quintessence, which isn't even that bad just not great.

Is it just me or have these guys dropped in quality from album to album? That song sucked.
