Mountain Goats on Colbert

John Darnielle's renowned indie group The Mountain Goats will perform October 6th on the critically acclaimed Comedy Central show The Colbert Report to promote their new album, the Biblically themed The Life of the World to Come, which will be released on that same day.

Colbert's site will begin streaming the new album on September 29, a week before its release.

It doesn't get more epic than when The Decemberist and Colbert had their guitar showdown in 2006, then due to a "hand injury," Peter Frampton stepped in for Colbert and rocked the shit.
