Eluveitie Recording New Album 2009-09-16 by Observer EMERITUS | 17 Comments | Swiss celtic-metallers Eluveitie have returned to the studio to record the successor to 2008's Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion.
Vocalist Chrigel Glanzmann discussed the new album in a press statement.
"Some of you might have heard some rumours about it already... and it’s true, we’re heavily working on our new album! Two and half weeks we’ve been in the studio, recording our next sword blow. Drums and most of the guitars are already nailed! And so far we are really, really satisfied. I mean REALLY!
"All in all I think that this album becomes our most dark and severe release so far; brimmed with mystical, convoluted and partly insanely fast Celtic folk melody lines, but at the same time with pure, juggernautish metal. The album’s probably more ‘metal’ than any other release we did so far."

Can't wait!
| | | better than the folk stuff i guess
| | | Folk stuff was solid. These guys/women are Celtic machines. Next album should be a concept record about the burning of Rome.

I really hope this is better than Slania
| | | Slania was awesome, I would be happy with anything similar
| | | I'm hoping for a mix of Spirit and Evocation 1, with maybe some To The Nameless Dead riffs. Dark celtic folk +heavier and groovier death/traditional heavy metal riffs, maybe a little black metal thrown in there for good measure + same varied vocals and I think i'll be the happiest kid on the planet. Assuming of course Kanye West doesnt budge in with the recording and ruin the chemistry.
| | | Sounds like they got a late start on this as they were planning on putting it out in December.
| | | Hurray!
| | | I thought this was supposed to be just the melodeath, like a Damnation/Deliverance thing?
| | | Sweeetttt
| | | the fact that they put out material so quickly is probably correlative with the fact that they lack material that is actually good.
| | | Naa I don think thats the case. Their last two albums were suprisingly good given the qucik time span.
| | | So Balls I see you left the Brotherhood
| | | Tempoarily. I'm currently amused by a video i just saw today for the first time while the rest of the world had their hearts stolen over two years ago by the thundering Charlie The Unicorn.
| | | ahhhhhhh I see
| | | Looking forward to this.
| | | Woot!
