New AFI Single Posted

'Medicate,' the lead single from AFI's upcoming album Crash Love, premiered Monday morning on KROQ with Kevin and Bean.

Vocalist Davey Havok was then interviewed on the station regarding the meaning of the track and vaguely suggested that the song concerns "really powerful, fleeting experiences."

A rip of the single broadcasted this morning on Kroq has been uploaded to Youtube. 'Medicate' will be released to iTunes on August 25, while Crash Love is to be released on September 29.

Kind of just sounds like well what a lot of successful punk bands do after they're tired of playing it. The song is done fairly well, but it's nothing really...unique, at least not to the standard one might hold AFI to. On the bright side, it's not AS terrible as I thought it would be.

.. have they reached the Arena? The only thing I'm slightly disappointed in are the lyrics- they're forward and less introspective.

At least the music is slightly better than the artwork

This, although beating that artwork isn't too hard! I'll Spotify this to see if its any good before looking at buying it.

Its a step in the right direction away from Decemberunderground, I hope the rest of the album is even better because then I might actually get it.
