Bob Dylan: A Complete Unknown

 Music legend Bob Dylan was detained by police on July 23 after an officer failed to recognize the iconic folk singer. The 22 year-old officer was responding to a complaint of an "old scruffy man acting suspiciously" in the Latin quarter of Long Branch, New Jersey's waterfront.
According to the officer the following exchange took place:
"What is your name, sir?" the officer asked.
"Bob Dylan," Dylan said.
"OK, what are you doing here?" the officer asked.
"I'm on tour," the singer replied.
Still unaware of the singer's personage, the officer placed Dylan in the back of her squad car and drove him to the hotel he was staying at so he could fetch identification. Upon arrival, tour staff vouched for the singer's identity.
According to one of her fellow officers: "The poor woman has taken rather a lot of abuse from us. I offered to bring in some of my Dylan albums. Unfortunately, she doesn't know what vinyl is either... If it was me, I'd have been demanding his autograph, not his ID."

Yeah...it's not like Bob has as distinctive look or anything, I definitely wouldn't be able to point him out in a bunch of old people...
This is a pretty funny story, I'm sure Bob enjoyed it...well young Bob probably would of, Old Bob probably didn't find it as fun.

she apparently explained herself, her response seems somewhat understandable kind of
"I asked him what his name was and he said, 'Bob Dylan'. Now, I've seen pictures of Bob Dylan from a long time ago and he didn't look like Bob Dylan to me at all."
She continued, "So I said, 'OK Bob, what are you doing in Long Branch?' He said he was touring the country with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. So now I'm really a little fishy about his story. I did not know what to believe or where he was coming from, or even who he was. We see a lot of people on our beat, and I wasn't sure if he came from one of our hospitals or something."
I mean if you haven't kept up with the guy's post 60s/70s stuff I imagine it would be kind of hard to recognize him at age 70 or whatever he is just saying
