Would have been better to see them at their own gig then seeing them at SW.

I assume it's because it’s easier to do the AFI tour, plus the money from that tour and SW might weigh into it.

Definitely. That and they would want to extend their US fanbase. Aussies don't miss out a great deal. Apparently, they will headline a sidewave & tickets to the Melbourne & Sydney shows are automatically good for that. Plus, they'll have great supports on that night.

Hmmm, I wonder if we can also pencil AFI in for SoundWave.

I think if AFI come here they’d play BDO over SW.

i wanted to see them at warped so fucking badly, but when we got there, they were just finishing up their fucking set. like 10 minutes later, i saw frank walking down a pathway and got all freezey-like...

I guess that is a possibility, I’d like to see them play SW.
We’ll just have to wait till they announce the full Soundwave line up next week.

The fact that SoundWave (& other festivals) have been eating into BDO's market share could see BDO pull out some money to buy an act such as AFI. Nothing would surprise me this summer. It's that competitive.

CrackTheSkye, are you sure the first line-up will be announced next week? Sounds early too me. Although the fact that 6-8 bands have already been confirmed suggests it's possible.

I'm hoping for The Blackout. The fact that buddies You Me At Six are on there gives me confidence. I'm just spewing that Lostprophets & Gaslight Anthem have been ruled out already. Taking Back Sunday will have to be at one of the festivals too I think.

Hope there's more Australian bands. I like lots of internationals, but I'd prefer some decent Aussie acts than shit like The Audition.

Closure In Moscow are rumoured to be playing which would be sweet, I have my doubts about them actually playing but.

They're playing Homebake; wouldn't be surprised to see them on the SW bill given the international success of First Temple.

Yeah, they’ve pretty much exploded around the world.
As they’re playing Homebake they might be eyeing off a BDO slot as it’s a bit closer towards Homebake.

I agree but, I wouldn't be surprised if they play BDO.

Apart from that fact that The Smashing Pumpkins, AFI, The Mars Volta and At the Drive-In some of your favourite bands have been on BDO.

Valid point on BDO attendees but, even though my brother isn’t a drugged up drop-kick.

FUCK YOU GALLOWS.

Seeing them at SW is just not the same as a proper gig.

I don’t understand why you’d pay $130 to go to a bar and then pay $9 a drink. Some people are just retarded.

And I agree BDO has about 3 or 4 bands each year that are somewhat interesting.

I've been to the BDO the past two years and got to see Neil Young, Rage Against the Machine, Arcade Fire, Battles, Enter Shikari, TV on the Radio, Lupe Fiasco, Cog, My Morning Jacket, Arctic Monkeys...I'd say they are all pretty interesting. Don't hate on it just because it's got a lot of shit punters.

Only Neil Young, Rage Against the Machine and Cog would do it for me, and I probably wouldn't pay $130 to see them.

Actually most the crowd booed them off stage, so if that's their job, then they sure did a hell of a job.
