Teen Arrested for Band T-Shirt

2008-06-25 by Athom EMERITUS | 47 Comments
The arrest of an Australian teen for wearing a Cradle of Filth t-shirt is sparking debate about the nation's lack of a bill of rights. The shirt in question shows a nun in a sexual manner and reads "Jesus is a C*nt". The arresting officer has been quoted as saying "I'm not religious but that's just offensive.''

Ding, ding! All aboard the clue train! It doesn't take a space genius to figure out that's why he wore the shirt in the first place.

I just wish he could have been arrested for endorsing a band that doesn't suck.

Cradle's old stuff was great. I wonder if Marduk made a t-shirt for their Jesus album. Either way, if this kid lived in Norway I would understand.

I bet that girl is hot. And that band is terrible. I happened to catch them at Rock-Am-Ring a few years back and Dani Filth is just awful.

Fuckin holy rollers man. The Marduk album combustion? People always grill my devildriver cutoff so I grill them back until they look away. People these days. Man I would love to drive around sunday and sport some corpse paint and spikes.

Yeah. People don't really care what you do here they'll just look at you for a second and look away quickly. I wore corpsepaint and spikes on halloween, I got the spikes at a party shop for $40 they had some usidedown crosses on them. Some people thought it was weird but they just shrugged it off.

No offense to our Australian users, but the laws there seem pretty lame. I know there are lame laws in pretty much every country, but come on.
yeah there's a law in the australian constitution that bans rude t-shirts

I remember reading in Kerrang!, or something similar, about a guy in the US getting arrested in some mall for wearing a Marilyn Manson shirt featuring "god of fuck".

I can't remember where it was in the states, but the dude looked like he just jumped off the back of a pick up.

Yeah yeah maybe it is ridiculous but there is a time and a place for everything and I personally don't want to see the word 'cunt' in large print when I go to that shopping centre. It's a filthy word and it just doesn't need to be put on display for all to see. I would be pretty pissed off if some kid was wearing a shirt like that while I was out with my 6 year old cousin.

It's just extremely poor taste. I don't have any sympathy for people who are out to offend people just for the sake of offending people.

Last time I checked, Cradle were pretty influential and i'm sure all these clowns haven't heard many of their albums, and instead just basing it off Dani's vocals. He has or previously has some of the most unique harsh vocals in metal, I love them, but I could see how they would grate to some. Case in point, Midian and Vempire for the win.

I was in the dentist the other day and some f**k ugly gimp tosspot was wearing a Chimaira T with "F**k your power trip" in unnecessarily large print. You just look at him and think "wow, you're a complete twat". Who are you riling against in the dentist exactly? the kid playing with the stickle bricks? i agree with br3ad_man.

Its like. "Look at me, I'm soooooo controversial!" Untrue. your just a twat.

In future the cop should just arrest the t shirt and leave the kid alone

i mean to me if you heard one (or a few in my case, my roomate in tech school listened to them constantly) youve heard them all. im pretty sure i read somewhere that dani uses effects on his voice to make it sound like it does(bad). how does he sound unique when he sounds almost exactly the same as every other black metal vocalists, albeit more screechy. thats like emo kids saying they are "unique". thats naughty!

There is a difference between free speach and atagonizing people. It's like you can't say "FIRE!" in a crowded building, or say "ni****" with a bunch of black people present and not expect a response.

idk like its kind of a constitutional right here and the Brits/Aussies piss me the **** off i think those cops should be disciplined for denying somebody rights.

To be honest, I prefer our laws how they are so people don't act like knobs just to flex their constitutional rights.

i actually enjoy COF, i dont get why everyone says they suck...except for the damn elitists.
and that kid shouldnt have been arrested...

and for everyone that has been wondering...YES, Marduk has a shirt that says "Fuck Me Jesus" on the back. the front is quite similar to COF's...
also, i have a friend that has a Dimmu Borgir shirt that says "Religion Sickens Me!" on the back.
