Grateful Dead Members to Reunite for Barack Obama

Members of the Grateful Dead will host a get out the vote concert in support of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama on Monday, February 4th at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco.

Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir, joined by Jackie Greene, John Molo, and Steve Molitz, will play a show together in support of Barack Obama.

The video website Iclips will be producing a live simulcast streamed via the Internet on www.iclips.net at approximately 7:30 PM PST.

This will mark the first time that the members of the legendary band have performed together since 2004. They have agreed to reunite for this one-time-only event in order to lend support to Senator Obama leading into the crucial "Super-Tuesday" series of primaries held on Tuesday, February 5th.

I prefer him over all the other candidates, but they're all pretty damn retarded, which is why I'm not voting. I just don't even give a damn.

McCain is the only decent candidate. Obama makes me want to commit murder. Grateful Dead can go to hell.

Please, all the candidates this year suck. This year is worse than Bush vs. Kerry. That aside, I wish a band would support someone other than Obama, especially since Hillary is expected to win most of the primaries today.

I agree, the big news for me with this was the reunion and broadcast of the show. I could care less what candidate is being endorsed.

Is this the year it's cool to say you're not voting? You're not making a statement if you're not voting kids.

First off, **** off. I'm not trying to make a damn "statement." All the candidates really suck this year and if you can't clearly see that then I feel really sorry for you. There is no reason to vote and anybody who does is wasting their time. They all suck equally so it matters not who wins.

Second of all, the president doesn't even have as much power as most people seem to think anyway. All decisions are left up to congress. Sure, the president has an influence, but that's really all it is.

If this is any indication, bands should stick to music and not politics. If you decide who you're going to vote for based on what a band says, then you don't deserve to vote anyway.

This I agree with.
