Three of the absolute best songs this band has ever recorded and one other extremely
solid song make this an essential EP for fans of the band. |
BTS Map Of The Soul: Persona | 3.5 |
None of these tracks do anything super interesting, but they're all well-constructed, infectious, and extremely fun. Bonus points for the intro track being an RM solo performance, as he's my favorite member. |

This shows a complete lack of understanding of what made their music so appealing in the
first place. Lots of unnecessary changes that diminish the impact of the most powerful
moments of these songs. The earlier stuff fares a bit better than the later stuff, since
the band has evolved so much that the changes to the songs feel more warranted.
At least the new song is good. |

An absolutely incredible opening track followed by four bland covers. I suppose as covers, they're acceptable, but these are Ghost covers. Ghost covers were always better than this. |

Skrillex Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites | 4.0 |
I feel Skrillex is unfairly hated. This ep combines different styles of electronic music,
and makes for a very fun release. |
Skrillex More Monsters and Sprites | 2.5 |
First of the Year and Ruffneck/Ruffneck Full Flex are good but the second half of the EP is full of unnecessary remixes of Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites |
Skrillex Bangarang | 3.0 |

The departure of Portnoy seemingly refreshed the band and got them away from the awkward metal sound. This is the best DT has sounded in a while. |

Technically sound but absolutely lifeless covers of songs by bands that influenced BTBAM. No reason to listen to the covers instead of the original, aside from maybe the King Crimson cover, which is alright. |
