This is just one major disappointment. I'm a devout Ace Frehley but this album is just corny and typical. It's almost if Ace has peaked in the past and he's trying to be the Space Ace again. I'm going to lie though, Outer Space is a beautiful song!

The resounding feature of this album is that it's catchy. The musical cliche's are rampant. Progressions that have been used a million times have been incorporated into punk and it works moderately well. A listen through is actually quite comfortable. The problem with this is that the album sounds like something close to an attempt at something large. It doesn't sound natural but rather deliberate. There's so many different things going on here that it just seems too haphazard and random to be any good. But it's a comfortable listen and shows once again that Green Day are completely unoriginal in their songwriting attempts and are falling into the trap of writing commercially acceptable melodies.

It's easy to see what's wrong with this album. Green Day are not original in anyway. Their riffs, lyrics and melodies are simply predictable. There is nothing new, original or innovative. It's just commercialised punk - which is kinda contradictory. Listening to this kinda dumbs me down.

Flaming Pie is the most underrated and unrecognised stroke of genius that pop/rock has ever produced. The rock co-creator McCartney shines in blinding brilliance on the record in every aspect. If you want a true indication of his musical skill, look not to The Beatles but rather to Flaming Pie. This album just rules.

Goodness!! This is one fucking fantastic album. Solid, hard and honest rock. And Dave Grohl packages it all with a fist full of awesome, "I'm one of the greatest frontmen of the 21st century!"

Out of all my favourites, The Joshua Tree stands out as the most perfect album. There's magic on this record that is somewhat hard to find and it gets me every time I hear it. Whether it's Bono's straining for high notes or Edge's incessant guitar-glory I don't know. There's just a sort of coherence to this album that makes it magical. My only complaint is how radio stations and VH1 have killed 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' dead. Seriously though - dead. Can't listen to that track thinking, "Oh goodness, not again."

Magnificent is a bloody fantastic song. It might even end up being a U2 classic. But this record just sounds like U2 have got their heads stuck too far up their asses. It sounds like they're saying, "Dude, we're fucking awesome musicians, so we can write weird, obscure and shit music and still sound awesome." Well, they kinda got that one wrong.

In my personal opinion (justified as a devoted member of the KISS army), this is the best KISS album. It has everything we've come to love about these licentious rock stars: lyrics about sex and 'love' that secrete vanity. It's all a KISS fan really wants to hear. It has classic styled riffs on every track that initiate eargasms as well as vocals that make air singing unstoppable. Gotta love the album cover as well.

Ah - the first album that I ever bought for myself. Naturally, you would presume that this means something to me, and it does. People can say what they want about this album but as they say, "each to his own". I would lie if I told you that there was a track on here that is not perfect. I can rock out to every track on this - including Peter's song and the dreaded disco hit. KISS are forever and always you damn critics.

This is where Chili Peppers' signature sound began to disappear. It's not gone, but it's just become more vague on their latest records. There's no funk, that's the problem (as well as the intro to Warm Tape). But they're still blazing forward with awesomeness on this album. It's got something to it that definately makes it their biggest departure in style but otherwise it's amazing.

Frusciante's comeback. That's the gist of what I think about this album. All that you can hear is his tenacious attack on life (and his guitar). This one solidified my devoted and endless worship of John Frusciante. This, out of all the Peppers albums has the most dense collection of hits. This album just emulates 'Ultimate success' and shows how this band is a entity that is constantly changing and innovating music as we know it.

Ah. What do we have here? Awesome and perfection - The Empyrean of anything funky and groovy. Chili Peppers prove here that their music trio (that of Flea, Frusciante and Smith) is possibly the best in music history, possessing unbeatable chemistry and genius. Keidis writes lyrics that are catchy, cheeky and unforgettable. This is the best of the best. Honestly one of my favourite albums of all time.

Next to British Steel, Number of the Beast is the definitive NWOBHM album. There are several timeless Maiden classics on here that are pretty much mandatory at any Maiden concert. Otherwise a playthrough constitutes results of abundant happiness and satisfaction at pure, original and unabated genius. Without this album, metal today wouldn't exist.

This album far surpasses Dance of Death and Brave New World in being the best of 21st century Maiden. There isn't a dull moment. There is flow and coherence. It is more progressive than anything they've ever done and as a result song length can be a bit of an obstruction to perfection. But a listen through when relaxing is just euphoric. Bruce's vocals, Nico's various drum fills, the trio's magical zooming across guitar frets and sing-along-Arry's relentless greased up fingers mutilating bass strings - it's all you could ever expect from Maiden and more.
