Christmas albums are rarely any good, usually they are just a means for a failing artist to make a bit of money to save themselves from bankruptcy but when N SYNC does it then how can you possibly hate it?
Sure, all the songs have been recycled over and over continuously for years now but when you have five white guys wearing tight jeans singing it there is no way you can resist singing along. |

Being Nirvana's first album it's no surprise that it's quite rough and lacks any real hooks to keep you engrossed. However behind the layers of off key singing, distorted guitars and terrible sound production lies very good potential for song writing which was shown on 1991's Nevermind and if one is dedicated enough to sit through the whole record then they will discover that it is more enjoyable than the musicianship shows.

The Offspring Ignition | 4.0 |
Although Offspring are often refered to as being pop punk they are much more than that. Although they do have the trademark pop punk attributes they sound much more grunge and metal influenced which, topped off with the catchy pop punk melodies, makes a great and interesting sound.
With Ignition, The Offspring have not reached their peak yet and still sound very new and amatuerish, although if anything that makes the album more pleasing since it has a raw edge to it which was lost on later albums.

L7 Bricks Are Heavy | 4.0 |
As with bands like Babes In Toyland and Hole, L7 managed to find success by adding in their female rage and angst into straight forward grunge music.
However unlike their peers they execute it with a more metal influenced sound and try to stear away from simple punk rock power chord progessions by adding in guitar solos and heavier metal guitar riffs.
