LOL @ how many 1 ratings this already has. Doomed from the start. Fuck you Sputnik - these guys made Dookie and American Idiot, they deserve not to be pre-judged. But no - they're not post-rock or indie, so they suck, right? God, sometimes I hate this website.

2nd Suicide Epitaph For The Proud 20083.5
First of all, no; this isn't the same "An Epitaph For The Proud" which revealed a hungry young band called 2nd Suicide to the world back in 2006. Or rather, it is half of it. Coming about as the result of a contest win, "Epitaph 2008" features re-recordings of arguably the group's two best songs (although one does miss "Oblivion") and cleverly strays from material from the uninspired "Last of Kin". The benefit of a better production really helps "Epitaph For The Proud"'s qualities shine through, bringing out the song's rock'n'roll attitude in full. Conversely, however, "Garden of Stone" loses a little of its original personality with the re-recording, sounding a tad more generic than the original take., However, and despite the lack of any original material, this is still a recommended download for fans of the group and of melodeath in general. The fact that it's free only makes it that much better. Download it free at the group's website at http://www.2ndsuicide.com/#music

Pantera Metal Magic1.0
If you never thought you'd see a song called "Ride My Rocket" on a Pantera album, boy, do we have an album for you!

"Metal Magic" sees the Texas quartet, then led by terrible singer Terry Glaze, embark in a piss-poor brand of hard'n'heavy with shameless glam overtones. There's even an attemptive ballad with keyboards! The songs veer between the unremarkable and the god-awful, often directly ripping off KISS, an admitted influence for the Darrell brothers. Heck, "Ride My Rocket" itself rips its title off an Ace Frehley song and its music off "Detroit Rock City"! The sad part is, it doesn't get much better from there, causing this album to be almost completely worthless. The only nearly acceptable song is the title track, whose riff hints at what would come years later.

Unfortunately, there would still be two more albums of this tripe before Pantera came to their senses, switched Glaze for Phil Anselmo, and set about redefining thrash metal. Avoid.

AC/DC Back In Black3.0
Typical case of an overrated album. The four famously classic tracks are undoubtedly very good, but there isn't much to listen to beyond them. The remaining tracks veer between passable and uninspired, and may not pass muster with a more demanding rock'n'roll fan. If you're looking to get into AC/DC, forget this one and get "Highway To Hell" instead; THAT'S the real classic.

No One No One2.5
Even back in the nu-metal heyday, No One were always ?just another? band of the genre. They weren't even third tier, and that shows on this album. What we have here is basically the work of a (competent) fourth-tier nu-metal band. The sound is derivative, albeit at times engaging, the anger is processed, and even the titles are fairly typical.
To do this band justice, their album starts off pretty strong. Down on Me, Chemical and It's Real are all strong nu-metal tracks, and I actually get a kick out of listening to them. But the problem here is the same that affects most hip-hop albums - there are just too many tracks, which contributes greatly to a reduction of the listener's interest. Plus, the closer we get to the end, the less interesting the tracks become, and none of them are ever a patch on the first five.
Another interesting factor in the band's sound is that every other song sounds the same. All the odd-number songs sound like Slipknot/Downthesun and all the even-numbered ones sound like System of A Down/Korn/Dope.
All in all, then, this is the definition of an average album. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, just derivative and a tad boring. If you're curious, try downloading Down on Me, Chemical and My Release, and just consign the rest of the album to eternal oblivion.

Quite simply, one of the most classic albums of all time. Nearly all, if not all, of the songs are classics, and members of the relevant generation(s) can still pull off their riffs and lyrics by heart upon the mere mention of their names. If you fancy yourself a music lover and you don't have this, then, my friend, stop fancying. Mandatory for all men, women, children and monkeys.
