I can't view/rate these two parts separately. They make for an engaging all-encompassing experience. While the album follows the same virtuoso stylistic approach of "Gallery" and retains the ambience that made that record work so well, it is also considerably heavier and much more immediate; harkening back to Lift Your Existence minus the vocals (with two exceptions). Just another commendable album from this group of talented musicians.

Despite having a heavier and punchier sound and production than their studio counterparts, I prefer the more laid back versions of the studio material. I think the more chilled jam vibe that the other live albums offer works better for these guys.

It's stylistically very different than any of their other releases but it is still an incredibly solid start for the band. Sonically it reminds me of very early Baroness; a healthy dose of sludge and progressive metal with crushing riffs and fast drumming.

Horizons / East sounds like the spiritual continuation of Beggars. They really put the effort this time. Eddie and Riley going ham, Dustin bringing his A game vocally and Teppei appearing throughout with many intricacies (guitar and keyboard wise). A very consistent album that drops the more streamlined sound they adopted with Major/Minor.

Lantlos Melting Sun5.0
Lantlos started moving away from blackgaze and more into conventional post-metal with shoegaze influences on Agape, and this is definitely the finalization of that progress. Removing harsh vocals altogether along with the "djenty" influences here and there gives this a very unique brand of post-metal that I haven't heard before. It was a HUGE mistake to not include "Melting Sun VII" in the standard version of the album, but for me it's the official closer.

Lantlos Isern Himel - Demo 2005-20073.5
Adding the 2006/2007 demos after the original 2005 demos fixes the issue that the other user describes for the reissue. Half of this has been re-recorded for the debut album but I really enjoy listening to these rawer cuts. Definitely a great appetizer for better things to come.

Biffy Clyro Opposites4.0
Biffy Clyro Lonely Revolutions4.0
While I enjoy Only Revolutions I definitely prefer its b-sides counterpart. If you cut out the last four songs from this you actually get a very coherent and great full length that sounds much more mature and focused than its parent album. Just like with Missing Pieces and Similarities you must collect this if you enjoyed the early releases from Biffy Clyro.
Biffy Clyro Only Revolutions3.5
Metallica S&M23.0
Lifehouse Out Of The Wasteland2.0
I have a soft spot for their first four albums and I used to listen to them with an ex gf (who passed away a few years ago) so nostalgia is a huge reason why I even still listen to this band. With that said, they took a weird turn starting Smoke & Mirrors combining their usual post-grunge/pop rock style with electronic music and then took a noisedive trying to combine folk and country with electronic pop on Almer?a. Even though they failed for the most part, at least they were attempting something different. This, however, is just a poor attempt to regain the success of the early material and it just sounds lifeless and sterile. You can't really tell one song from the next and it feels like a collection of leftovers they accumulated over the years. This pretty much came and went and it's no wonder why they haven't released anything since. "Stardust" and "Central Park" are the only good songs here.

The sound leaves a lot to be desired but it's not their worst sounding bootleg. If you plan on getting any of the bootlegs I'd go with Live on Stockholm, considering the tracklist is virtually the same as this (with the exception of "Away") and has a much superior recording/mixing quality compared to this one. Still, it's not a terrible release by any means and probably you will want to own it if you are a collector such as myself.

The performances are great as expected with Neurosis. However, this bootleg sounds like complete ass. Definitely their worst sounding live recording which is a shame considering there are no other "official" live takes of "Takeahnase", "Cold Ascending" and "Enemy of the Sun".
Neurosis Short Wave Warfare3.0
Actually a very good sounding bootleg that includes mostly songs from their debut album, but elevated by The Word As Law inclusions such as "Obsequious Obsolescence", "To What End?" and "Blisters" as well as "Self-Doubt" and "Nonsense" from the Lookout! Records Vinyl exclusive Aberration EP.

Biffy Clyro Blackened Sky B-Sides3.5
A pretty good collection of b-sides from the debut. While it make sense some of these would be left out I could see "Breatheher" as a single, with a nice early 2000's emo sound and "Less The Product" is easily the best of the bunch as it flows seamlessly with a perfect atmospheric outro... gives a hint of their prog rock tendencies which they explored on the two subsequent albums more.

Radiohead Fake Plastic Trees3.5
Radiohead High & Dry / Planet Telex2.5
I like both High & Dry and Planet Telex, but the b-sides included here aren't much interesting. A couple of remixes of "Planet Telex", a rework of "Killers Cars" from their first demo release and "Maquiladora" which is my favorite from this.
Radiohead My Iron Lung3.5
Chevelle Any Last Words2.5
A bit of a mixed bag; some songs sound good and others sound terrible compared to the studio versions. Not as bad as the previous live album but they have so much better performances which you can watch on YouTube.
Chevelle Live From The Road2.0
Radiohead Pop Is Dead2.0
Can't believe this was considered single material. Definitely the worst of the early EP's/singles.
Radiohead Anyone Can Play Guitar3.0
"Coke Babies" is probably my favorite b-side from Pablo Honey. I'm glad it made it to the album's Collector's Edition.
Radiohead Creep3.0
If I'm not mistaken there are two versions of this single/EP; one including "Lurgee" (which is one of the weaker tracks of the debut), "Inside My Head" (which is a cool grungy song) and "Million Dollar Question" (definitely get why this was left out, anyways). Then there's another version including a remix of "Blow Out" (one of the best songs of the debut), a live version of "Inside My Head" and "Yes I Am" (one of the strongest b-sides from Pablo Honey). I'd say stick with the second version of the single, even though all songs are included in the Collector's Edition of the album.

A minor change in the track list makes this a bit more listenable; having Without You as track 2 (it's one of the few good songs here), The Unknown as track 3, and then Waiting and Deja Vu as track 4 and 5 respectively. With that said, this is where I part ways with this band after years defending their work (even Feeding the Wolves and From Birth to Burial had great stuff). I was not surprised to find out Howard Benson produced this as he tends to ruin whatever he touches.

Doesn't have the memorable singles like Crash nor the heavy punch of the debut, but still a decent release and a "return to form" of some sort after the previous disappointing album. It doesn't help that the production is a bit muddy and that it only has 9 songs total, with an acoustic version of Burn Back the Sun at the end (pretty cheap when bands do that). First four songs are great but it gets a bit samey on the latter half (except for Don't Walk Away, which is a great song).

This was released exclusively as a 7" vinyl in 2002, but was reissued on digital platforms on 2013 under the title "S/T". The songs are somewhat faster than on the debut album, but also drawing closer to the more chaotic mood of The Beyond. This is where CoL started realizing their true potential.

It's surprising for a band that usually performed their songs faithfully to the studio recordings, to change things a bit when performing a full album. Even though Oceanic has been remastered the songs sound more energetic and fast paced here, enough to consider this an "alternate version" of the original.

Isis and Aereogramme In The Fishtank 144.0
ISIS Live 42.5
It's not as bad sounding as the first bootleg (Live I) nor as good sounding as Live III (which sounds pretty good for a bootleg), but it's really just a random collection of amateur recordings that don't really add much to the series. Of the earlier live recordings Live II (by far the best produced) and Live III (which is basically a live version of Panopticon) are the clear winners.
ISIS Live 33.0
ISIS Live 23.5
It's a great live album with decent production only ruined by a dude screaming his lungs on every break, and because of how they butchered the begining of Weight. It includes the extended live version of Celestial, though, which is all you can ask for.
ISIS Panopticon5.0
ISIS Live 12.5
They were able to work some miracles with the remaster as the original bootleg was barely unlistenable. The real fault, though, is that all of these songs have been recorded live in higher quality performances and sound. If you aren't a collector or a hardcore fan then this has little value to it, to be fair.

Terrible performance. The singer (RIP) could not hit the notes the other singers did. Just awful. The only reason this is any special is because it includes the complete recording session of "From the 27th State" EP. Also worth getting the b-sides from HTSAF and Hide Nothing.
Further Seems Forever Hope This Finds You Well3.5
Decent "best of" compilation but it's mostly worthy for the b-sides. There's a quite a few missing, though, which were released later on "The Final Curtain".

There isn't a single bad moment here. These are criminally underrated EP's, and having both compiled as a full LP is the best way to make them justice, along with the remaster itself.

Songs are great but most of this is recycled from B-Sides & Rarities comp. Drive was a bonus track from SNW. Caress, Ghosts and Do You Believe were included on the deluxe edition of DE. And then you have Sleep Walk which is a sweet little gem of a b-side from the self titled record. Still no inclusion of To Have and to Hold which is one of my favorite covers from them.

A great appetizer for their sophomore album (includes three demo versions of Come Now Sleep). I prefer the demo version of "Tides" over the album version which is titled "New Sun". "New Sun (Demo)" Is titled "Tides" on the album version. A bit confusing, I know. It also includes a heartfelt live performance of "The Widow" from the debut record.

Magna-Phi, Frailty, Shelter (Live Acoustic), Wasteland and Through the Iris are the best songs in here and show great potential, with the latter two becoming charting singles in the subsequent release.

Sucks this band has broken up again. These demos rule. Better than anything they've put out since
SHTS (though I never listened to World Of Violence demos). If you're looking for a high quality
compilation of these demos search no further: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ydxrzpp6mf71sd5/2016+-

Intronaut The Challenger3.5
The first three tracks are awesome, and the live tracks are a welcome addition to their catalog (they sound pretty close to early Mastodon). I think this compilation was made to say goodbye to one of the former members, and serves as a good transition from their earlier stuff to Prehistoricisms.
