I had a few good laughs of stuff being samples and how 'Paid' is exactly what Ty was thinking on EVERY song on here. And two more of these? Woof.

Andre 3000 New Blue Sun2.5
A beautiful album. I'm glad André had the courage to release this as he has been doing this for some time. I don't think this album would have gotten a lot of attention if this was released by a no name artist, but this does show potential for him to expand in another album with this soundscape, or to further collaborate with others in this genre.

Always fun to see what Aesop Rock is doing. Came away with some good stories and production that may make me revisit it, but when is the real question.

This album, feels like the equivalent of an audio diary and you are crate digging on their laptop. I'm so happy this type of 'dump it on streaming' is letting us enjoy some raw and demo like qualities of what Mac Demarco's headspace is at the time. Yes, not everything is gold and I know down the road this can be reflected on in freedom of sampling this style of releases as there are gems to be flipped. See in a few years time and we can focus back on how freedom of this style of demo releases is one of the best.

Some fantastic covers from a singer who doesn't get enough credit. While the renditions don't steer too far from the originals, this is such a fun and easy listening experience and I hope we get more sheets to get cozy with!

I went into this album thinking he improved his overall sound, but oh boy the whole 'He sounds real' - real bad if you ask me. While his debut was in one ear out the other, this made me feel like if discount post punk needed another off key singer I don't think they would ask him to fill their spot.... just off
Logic Vinyl Days2.5
While I like what is presented, the lyrics come off average. I would much rather enjoy this as an instrumental mix with a deluxe and we didn't get that. I may revisit songs like Tetris, Decades and Breath Control but that's it.

I have a feeling OPN was made to produce for the longest time, and we finally have a mainstream artist willing to work with him (and others) to make something that sounds more than the 80s and much like of this time. Great album.

While I enjoyed this, you need to hear this as removed from White Pony as possible. Kanye West Jesus Is King2.5
Seems much like his time in the studio was too short, or at least wanting to release this so fast that he didn't think this would be looked at any closely by fans of Christian music or even gospel albums. I would love to see this vibe tour with songs from his back calalog to intermix with a choir, spoken Bible versus, all that good for the soul. This album feels like the Yhandi bootleg in terms of demo quality.

Awesome to see Danny Brown still holds up in beats that seem more tame than usual. Q-Tip does no wrong with the features and production colaberations. Fans may not like this one but the lyrics will live on just like his other work.

Explosive, animalistic robotic beats we've come to love when Gesaffelstein came into the scene earlier this decade with 'Variations'. A great ender of the decade showcasing he can still go hard with no needed features to appease the label.

Lindsey Stirling Shatter Me2.5
Interesting concept but not very well executed. The violin is fantastic but too generic electronic brostep stuff that is cringe worthy... Maybe having an electronic producer help her on these parts (Burial, Four Tet, and Massive Attack come to mind). She already has a great following on YouTube, she could have reached out to one of them to make a record. Maybe I love the idea but hate the execution more is what bothers me about this...

As someone who owns this on Vinyl and bought the RSD version I have to say this is just about a perfect box set you could get from this genre. Sleeves in sleeves, heavyweight pressing, and even the sides make it so a mixer can play the next side without flipping.... Genius. As for the concert, it's fantastic. Mixed better then the DVD which had the entire concert and breaks, this does not. The breaks are mixed together as one continious stream of synth blasting, drum pumping, and honest suttle bass with James' vocals just being. Well, James. All of 'the hits' are covered, with some first time plays live and help from other artists to make this a live album you wish you had conceived in your dreams. If this release isn't in fact real, I don't want to wake up from it.
Duck Sauce Quack4.0
What got in the way of this album truely shining is the interludes. Most very conrny, out of place that take away from being a album that Roul? could have made. If they make a version of the album without the interludes (for DJs), I will rate this much higher.

Daft Punk Random Access Memories5.0
This is the most consistent album of Daft Punk. Lets face it, every album they release is an exact 180 to what they do. Did anyone expect live instrumentation after releasing Alive 2007, a hardcore electronic love album? Not me. So was this album a success? Well, yes since they still lived true to these statements above, and shocked others in making a bold statement of releasing this album. Discovery was the album of electronic music for the 2000s, so maybe this might be influential for the next generation.

Kavinsky Outrun3.5
Some good Synthpop and Downtempo, but lacks more depth. Don't let a prelude fool you; there isn't a story, just rsome great tunes for driving. Some of these songs were recycled to add length to this, which I find lazy. Fans rwho are looking for new material will find about half of these songs fresh, with the other half seeming to be rexactly the same tracks from his EPs. If you don't own any of his previous material and still like Synthpop with rFrench House, give this LP a try.

One of the best EPs that an electronic producer can put out follows this formula. A hit song that seems to never grow tired, a B side track that let's you embark on the grittier side of production, and a slow jam for the ladies. It seems to have everything in these three songs that many in the electronic field want to recreate and make their own.

While it is easy to sum up what the album sounds like, I feel this album more than I usually do with music with 'real material'. Like most ambient or drone music, the album is more about minimal sound output and evoking an emotion or feeling while passively listening. On GOOD sound equipment, I think this might be my album to want to drown out the world but not feel happy or lofty like other artists in the ambient or drone field.

When you read about an album's production really changing the sound, I feel like this band is a great example of how making the first release sound completely not like what they intended on sounding like.

I think noise rock is a bit too much for a debut- considering all the songs they made before the album.

A fun record that helped pave the way for all female bands with some quarky pop hooks and new wave glits. This would've been my favorite album if I was born a decade earlier.

One of the most punk things to do- after redefining what post punk/ska can consider a blueprint for genres to bend, this album when heard as 6 sides of EPs that throw many ideas out there. I think there are too many songs on here that makes it hard to remember but this album I still find quality and enjoyed as a 6 section piece of work.

In a collection of passed down records, when hearing it I wanted to think it was from another southern rock band and couldn't put my name on it. I suspect this album to be sampled for some R&B or hip hop head who knows some good guitar jams to flip.

More or less the 'if it aint broke dont fix it' for this 2nd album. Covers sprinkled in, some good safe production and another album. This is nice work music but nothing to comment on.

This album got me into Rock and Roll. From the varied sounds and the great riffs, this monster for me is something that Rock looked up to and tried to replicate. Many of these songs someone else has made a direct influenced riff or sound. This is the album that God himself has graced (yes I'm sure he did that to IV too).
