2015
Haste the Day Coward4.0
Dark grungy production, a harsh and screeching vocal duo, violent guitar riffs, very few breakdowns placed in just the right spots; all blended together to create a beyond mature but wise album.
As It Is Never Happy, Ever After4.0

Attila Guilty Pleasure1.0

Silent Planet The Night God Slept4.5
This sounds nothing like Oh, Sleeper lol
PVRIS White Noise4.0
xSPONGEXCOREx Don't Mess With TexXxas2.5
Set It Off Duality4.0
Set It Off always had a problem with consistency with most of their albums being highly mediocre
with a couple stand out tracks. Duality proves this band has finally blossomed to their full
potential with finding a perfect balance of all their best work formed into one great album.
Alive Like Me Only Forever4.0
Favorite Weapon Sixty Saragossa1.5
Album has some really good hooks but Hance really doesn't have the vocal talent to make them shine. Vocally, the album is just stale.
Hands Like Houses Reimagine2.5
To me all the tracks seem uninspired and unnecessary. Also, it sounds like they recorded every
track while playing it live, I think they could of done a better job with it. Atleast they
released an EP instead of a stupid re-release of the whole album.
xSPONGEXCOREx How Tough Are Yah?5.0
Wvnder Wander4.0
Heartist Feeding Fiction3.0
When I first listened to Heartist's first album I immediately thought to myself that this band should shoot to be a more softer band. I guess this is a classic case of "Be Careful What You Wish For." I wanted a soft, soul, Post Hardcore sound from this band but instead they turned to MAINSTREAM alternative rock. Instrumentally this album is solid and has a lot of twist we haven't heard in the genre yet.
Capture Reign of Terror3.0
Holy crap! This is decent. A very refreshing Post-Hardcore album. They got lucky ;)
Sleeping Giant Finished People3.5
Really crafty instrumentation with fast-paced energy with a few fun breakdowns along the way. Vocals are a little disappointing compared to their last album but overall a very solid metalcore production.
One Last Look Dreamers3.0
One Last Look did it again with putting out another strong EP. The three singles are very
solid creative Post-Hardore, but what really makes this EP shine is the acoustics tracks.
Such a wonderful way to display the amazing voice of their singer.
Rain City Drive Through Art We Are All Equals3.0
Outline In Color Masks3.0
Youth In Revolt Love Is A Liar's Game3.5
The Word Alive Real.3.5
This album is a water down version of Life Cycles, if you think this album is good then you robviously didn't give Life Cycles a chance.
Beartooth Disgusting4.0
Album rules hard, that's all I can say. Just listen to it. Caleb has proved himself to be an elite musician.
Miss Fortune A Spark To Believe4.5
A breathtaking album. They completely abide all the rules and created an album that is
completely in the wrong direction of the other Post-Hardcore acts, which is a good thing!
They created their own soft sound and it's beautiful. Vocals are absolutely flawless. Very
close to perfect.
Michael Jackson Xscape3.5
One Year Later Life Between The Lies2.5
The only thing that was good about this band was the clean vocals and the way they
incorporated that over poppy synth sections. In this album they walked away from that and
just left nothing but a barley above average metalcore band. Other than that, the cleans are
still enjoyable on some tracks and some really dark guitar riffs/dark synth makes this album
a little enjoyable. nonetheless, this album is a huge growth point for the band, and it
thrives with maturity compared to their debut album. If they can return to their roots and
add just a little of their old stlye (pop/electronica) this band could be very interesting
but until that happens, this album is not worth checking out.
Memphis May Fire Unconditional3.0
I Killed the Prom Queen Beloved3.5
I don't want to sound crazy or anything but this one of the best metalcore albums I have rever listened to.. Sweet guitar riffs and melodic riffs, original vocals, and not a dull rbreakdown to be found.
Issues Issues4.0
A beautiful record that heavily infuses mainstream synths and hooks with punk music and just the perfect amount of generic metalcore.
Abandon All Ships Malocchio1.0
Band gets worse after every release. However, the synths portrayed in this album suits them
much better than the elementary stuff they were working with in their first album, too bad
they couldn't deliver the passable metalcore they brought in 'Geeving' or this album would
of been pretty decent.
For Today Fight the Silence3.0
For Today goes in guns blazing in 'Fight The Silence' as they ignore to compose anything interesting and inspirational like their past albums and makes it their blueprint to fit in as much breakdowns as possible into all their songs on this album.
Of Mice and Men Restoring Force3.0
Not as bad as I anticipated to be. Austin Carlile and the guitars certainly put a huge rmainstream spin on the album and other parts just uses the basic metelcore formula which rfuses and creates a new sound that has not been heard in this genre. So my hat is tipped to rthat, but there is still a generic presence wrapped around the album and has less heart than rtheir previous releases.

Overall this band is just a cookie cutter of a genre that's very limited which makes them standout without failing to do wrong.
merchants My Anchor, My Burden1.0
Jonny Craig Find What You Love And Let It Kill You1.5
From the looks of his cover art, Jonny has joined the Illuminati. Too bad it's not helping his music improve...
R5 Louder1.5
Some really catchy songs on here but most of this album is unbearable. And the tracks that are good just use simple tricks to make the song catchy, like singing a simple nah nah nah nah as the chorus and then have a part where the instrumentals stop and then they do a boom boom clap while shouting the chorus and then the music picks up again.

That's today's mainstream pop for ya.
Eyes Set to Kill Masks2.5
The Devil Wears Prada 8:184.5
This is tied with August Burns Red for best Metalcore Album of the year.
Balance and Composure The Things We Think We're Missing4.5
Never been a fan of their first album but this was a delight to listen to.
Ariana Grande Yours Truly4.0
I don't get why people is giving this a 1? Is she like the new Justin Beiber now? Ariana is one of the few (maybe only) child nickelodeon star that has musical talent. I really enjoy the direction of the album, the way she strayed away from today's horrid pop/mainstream sound of music and went into a direction she grew up listening to (90's R&B.) The song writing of every track is skillful and she has an outstanding voice. I couldn't be more proud of this freshly blossom girl with a huge career in front of her.
Blessthefall Hollow Bodies3.0
The instrumentals are quite groundbreaking. They experimented and composed some really interesting moments, this is hands down the heaviest album they have ever put out, and It's fast-paced and extremely explosive, but I wish I could say the same for the vocals. The screams are not bad but definitely doesn't compare to past attempts and cleans are extremely careless and flat-out awful, Beau has always been mediocre but this is just unacceptable. Also, the production is very sketchy. Awakening had beautiful sound quality, but this is so sub-par, it makes me not even want to listen to it.
Born of Osiris Tomorrow We Die Alive3.0
City in the Sea Below the Noise4.0
An absolutely mind-blowing record. A delightful surprised is found to anyone who stumbles across this gem, kudos to the whole band for such a successful effort for their debut attempt! An impressive, energetic, and talented album that gleams in the pile of mediocre let-downs albums of 2013. Will be cherishing this all the way into the next year.
Woe, Is Me American Dream2.5
This band has finally crafted their own sound after their hardships in the past. It's still a tad generic though, but it is progress. I still believe they can make a decent album with their next LP.
Our Last Night Summer Of Covers3.0
Guitars are packed with thrilling assortment and talent. Some of the best covers you would hear from a metalcore band, even though the metalcore is very slight.
Confide All Is Calm1.0
Joel Piper single handedly destroyed this album. I feel so sorry for the rest of the band.
Hands Like Houses Unimagine4.0
SECRETS Fragile Figures4.0
Amazing album! Huge improvement from their debut, by adding more complicated guitar riffs, experimenting with a couple synths that makes the album very more darker than their debut. Vocals are flawless.
Beartooth Sick3.0
How can they make such a good song like 'I Have A Problem' and then turn around and make 5 mediocre tracks.
Defeater Letters Home4.0
Like Moths to Flames An Eye for an Eye2.5
This was worse than I expected. Still, some decent numbers on here.
letlive. The Blackest Beautiful3.0
"The Blackest Beautiful?" More like "The B-Sides of Fake History..."
Phinehas The Last Word Is Yours to Speak4.5
FALL TO YOUR KNEES PHARISEE!! [breakdown! *awesome guitar riff during breakdown* ]
Attila About That Life2.5
Attila finally has the good production to showcase how great their instrumentals can be. In my opinion, their drumming and breakdowns have never been better and the southern guitar riffs put the icing on the cake but unfortunately Fronz lyrics kills everything about this album.
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore4.5
This band has always been great but I felt like they have never accomplished a full album that was thrilling from start to finish. It's safe to say Rescue & Restore delivers.

Good cleans, screams, and breakdowns. What else is there in a decent scene-core band in today's world? Only thing that is holding this band back is over abusive synths.

Quite boring and awkward at times. Vocals are below par, even though the cleans sound a lot like Kurt Travis, but he doesn't have the confidence to be a good front-man, most of his singing is in the background scared to show itself. Good choices for featured vocalists (Jonny Craig, Kurt Travis, Tilian Pearson) cause' they obviously need a lot of help.

Very different... Which is the only thing that made this album listenable. The synths had some highlights but it also just flat out ruin the album with imitating Asking Alexandria dance/breakdown sequences. Along with the clean vocalist, which most of his singing just didn't match with most of the songs or this whole genre of music; but they did make songs that made him stand out (Forever at all.. and Increase:Decrease) Instrumentally this album is very solid, with a soothing atmosphere along with a couple fun breakdowns.

I know there is a whole lot of people who despises the new genre "Post Hardcore/Electronica" but this band is something very special. They only have a couple singles out but the songs are very well made and it has the perfect mix of techno sequences. Also, like some bands they don't over abuse the electronica sound. I highly suggest this band to anyone and if your fans of bands like Attack Attack! or Abandon All Ships, then Crown The Empire is a band sent from heaven!

A step back in the wrong direction! Everything about this album is SLOW. Uninspired chugs with
good breakdowns are then slowed down into really painful and annoying clean vocal sequences.
Bottom line is- this album is everywhere! It seems rushed. bad chugs, good breakdowns, really good
synths (keyboards), terrible clean choruses are all mixed together like a smoothie that creates a
very awkward album.

I hope most of these ratings are hate ratings, because I thoroughly enjoyed some aspects of this album. Album has delightful riffage and drumming, I really enjoyed the soft melody choruses except the clean vocals are terrible. Of course this album has some intolerable tracks, I also thought their whole image was misleading, most of the record is experimental death-metal.

The Great Commission Heavy Worship1.0
The most generic band in every way possible. Lyrically, the album is horrid while quoting popular sayings or phrases and creating choruses out of them. It's very rare you will hear a breakdown that's not extremely generic. The only upside would be the guitars adding some really decent melodic riffs but that's only if their not chugging like a Freight train. To be honest, I don't even think this band is Christian. I think they claim to be christian for a marketing idea In order to create a solid fan base, because you won't hear a thing lyrically inspired by Christian value.

This band is a much needed breath of fresh air. This band is gonna save the future of the genre because it's already dying by young, generic bands with no potential. This band stands out from the rest by creative breakdowns, great vocals, and just overall great song writing. They certainly are inspired by bigger bands in the genre just by listening to them, they sound like a big mainstream medley. They sound like a cross between The Word Alive and August Burns Red. I highly recommend this band to any Post-Hardcore fans.

Vanna has been through a lot of different members, seriously; they have 7 former members. Maybe this is a good thing, I mean lets be honest, their first album was a huge headache, but this album is actually a breakthrough for this band. I personally love their old vocalist "Chris Preece" He was an amazing screamer, so I was kinda not looking forward to their new screamer, but it turns out that he does a great job! Vanna never disappoints when it comes to heavy breakdowns and that's exactly what this album gives you. This album brings mellow sound, soft catchy choruses with great clean vocals, and of course good breakdowns. Vanna is just a great Post-Hardcore band but with a little extra hardcore edge.

Another Rap/metal experimentation album that gets overlooked and judged as just another recycled composition. Rap, metal, and shock value lyrics is maybe something that has already been done but Swan Songs is just a very modern version of that if not ahead of it's time. I'm sure this album inspired alot of variety of music, with excellent capture of emotion with their Hip Hop, underground nu-metal, and excellent orchestration. While it stands out from others (Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Korn) while focusing more on rap as each member showcases their talent with singing and create very catchy boy bandish' choruses.

I think it's funny that if you take all of Vanna's albums and look at the OFFICIAL reviews; the highest rated album might be a 2.5/5 star and if you look at the fan's ratings on Sputnik, Vanna looks like an insanely good band. Why do fans of Vanna think they are amazing? I'm not a fan of any of Vanna's LP's but I have to admit that this EP is pretty sick. This EP is actually good because they sound like a great Post-Hardcore band. The clean vocals are enjoyable and then it can turn into a very heavy breakdown with a great variety of screaming but for some reason this band can't progress from this decent EP when it comes to a full-length album.
