2010
Ellie Goulding Lights4.0

2009
Queen Absolute Greatest4.5
Besides first edition collectors... Who cares that other compilations - with the same songs - were launched in 2000 and before?
Fortunately, every day there are people (e.g. youngsters) finding Queen for the first time; or finding that a CD has much more quality than the MP3 on their iTunes.
This album is packed with top quality music and is a fantastic option for someone looking to improve their Queen music library.
U2 No Line on the Horizon2.5

2008
Billy Idol The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself3.0
Packed with good songs - none of them is outstanding, though.
Adele 194.5

2007
The Doors The Very Best of the Doors4.0
9 masterpiece songs including: The end; riders on the storm; light my fire.

2006
Depeche Mode The Best Of - Volume I4.0

2004
U2 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb2.5
Pearl Jam rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991-2003)2.5
Among 33 songs... there are only 6 tracks I like:
- Light years
- Last kiss
- Wishlist
- Betterman
- Daughter
- Black
That wouldn't bother me if the rest of the songs were not pure noise to my ears... the vocals are plain awful...
The Clash London Calling: Legacy Edition2.5
Like Spanish Bombs and a couple of other songs. The rest is poor - vocals bellow average and instrumentally plain simple (like a beginners amateur band).

2002
Vanessa Carlton Be Not Nobody3.0
Norah Jones Come Away with Me3.0
Good to relax having a nice wine by candle light. Good vocals and instruments (e.g. piano). May turn a tad boring as all songs offer a similar experience.

2001
Nas STILLmatic3.0
The Cure Greatest Hits4.0
George Harrison All Things Must Pass (30th Anniversary Edition)2.5
Royksopp Melody A.M.3.5

2000
U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind3.0
Like Elevation and a couple of other songs in the record but none is really special.
Linkin Park Hybrid Theory4.0
Lenny Kravitz Greatest Hits4.0
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP4.0
6 very good tracks (out of 18) namely:
#3 - Stan;
#6 - Steve Berman (Skit) - not a song but funny and adds to the album ambience;
#7 - The way I am;
#8 - The real slim shady;
#15 - Bitch please II;
#16 - Kim - unless you're a horror movie fan, you won't play this one more than once;
#11 - Marshal Mathers - does not move - it's a basic song less innovative and original than the 6 songs listed above.

1999
The Cranberries Bury the Hatchet4.5
Highly dynamic vocals and instruments.
Album includes 7 great songs including:
- Animal instinct;
- Loud and clear;
- Promises;
- Just my imagination;
- Shattered;
- Copycat;
- Dying in the Sun.

1998
Phil Collins Hits4.0
The only Phil Collins CD you will ever need. 9/16 great songs.

Don't agree with reviewer (clairvoyant) recommended tracks. For me the "must have" are:
#3 - Easy lover;
#4 - You can't hurry love;
#5 - Two hearts;
#7 - Against all odds (also recommended by clairvoyant);
#9 - Separate lives;
#11 - One more night;
#12 - Sussudio;
#14 - A groovy kind of love;
#15 - In the air tonight (also recommended by clairvoyant).
Another day in paradise, for me, its just a boring song to listen no more than once per year.

1997
Radiohead OK Computer2.0
Songs are complex with a different / original sound. However, I find the whole album plain boring. I don't even understand why it generates so much excitement and appraisal.
U2 Pop3.0
Some interesting songs but overall tends to be a boring record.
Jamiroquai Travelling Without Moving3.5

1996
Gipsy Kings Love songs4.0
Gipsy Kings have an original sonority very appealing especially for those who can understand spanish.
This album offers 7 great songs (out of 15) namely:
#1 - Un amor
#3 - A mi manera
#6 - Quireo saber
#8 - Caminando por la calle
#10 - Passion
#14 - Trista pena
#15 - Inspiration
Eventually there are other (better) albums to get an introduction to the Gipsy Kings but one cannot go wrong with this one.
Sepultura Roots2.0
Like Ratamahatta and the bonus tracks. The rest is noise.

1994
Nas Illmatic3.0
Probably deserves more. I'm european and have a hard time following and understanding the lyrics. Clearly
an album to listen more than once - and learn to appreciate.

1993
U2 Zooropa4.0
Babyface, Numb, Lemon and Stay justify this rating. The rest is boring.
Sepultura Chaos A.D.2.0

1992
Alice in Chains Dirt3.5

1991
U2 Achtung Baby4.0
"Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World" and "Who's gonna ride your wild horses" - are superb songs.
Nirvana Nevermind4.0
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion II4.5
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion I4.0
Metallica Metallica5.0
Perfect. Like all the songs a lot. The first 5 songs plus Nothing Else Matters are masterpieces. The rest is superb.

1990
Megadeth Rust in Peace4.0
Depeche Mode Violator3.0

1989
The Cure Disintegration4.0

1988
Guns N' Roses G N' R Lies3.5
Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder4.5
Packed with best-of-breed songs and a great "live" ambiance this album offers a super
listening experience. Naturally, studio versions of these songs have purer sound.
U2 Rattle and Hum4.0
Metallica ...And Justice for All3.0

1987
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction4.5
Fleetwood Mac Tango in the Night4.5
U2 The Joshua Tree3.0

1986
Genesis Invisible Touch4.0
Metallica Master of Puppets4.5
1985
Dire Straits Brothers in Arms5.0
5/9 songs are excellent:
#1 So far away;
#2 Money for nothing (masterpiece)
#4 Your latest trick (masterpiece)
#5 Why worry (masterpiece)
#9 Brothers in arms (masterpiece)
Every audiophile should own this album.

1984
U2 The Unforgettable Fire3.0
Metallica Ride the Lightning4.0

1983
Genesis Genesis3.5
Metallica Kill 'Em All2.5
Marillion Script for a Jester's Tear4.5
6 great songs including "He knows you know".
U2 War4.0

1982
Dire Straits Love Over Gold4.0
Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast3.5
Simon and Garfunkel The Concert in Central Park4.5

1981
U2 October2.0

1980
U2 Boy3.0
AC/DC Back In Black5.0
With the exception of "let me put my love into you"... all songs are masterpieces.
When I hear this record I get the impression it's one of those "best off" career celebration albums - packed with hits compiled from multiple records launched over a long period of time. Well... it's not, for ACDC it's just another record. An amazing one, though.

1979
Pink Floyd The Wall3.0
Another brick in the wall (part 2) - saves this album. The rest is (almost) boring.
AC/DC Highway To Hell3.0
The first song - Highway to hell - is great. The rest of the album is poor.
Supertramp Breakfast in America4.0

1978
Bruce Springsteen Darkness on the Edge of Town2.5

1977
Peter Gabriel Car3.0
It is striking that the masterpiece song "Solsbury Hill" - that by itself justifies the acquisition of this record - was presented in an album full of weak and completely different songs.
Fleetwood Mac Rumours4.0

1976
Steve Miller Band Fly Like an Eagle3.0
Genesis A Trick of the Tail4.0
A very good start for Phil Collins. Much better than some of previous Peter Gabriel albums (e.g. Foxtrot).
1975
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here5.0
Perfect. Sounds like they are inviting ETs to visit the Earth!!
Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks2.5
Am I the only one to consider the vocals too bad? What about all the songs sounding the same?... "Shelter
from the storm" and "Buckets of rain" are enjoyable. Dylan saved the best for last

1974
Genesis The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway4.0
The sound is so different that, when I was a young kid and bought this record (in vinyl), after hearing a couple of times, I took the record back to the store and asked if I got a bad copy of the album. They told me the record was perfect and I persisted listening to it - to discover beautiful and exciting songs.
Camel Mirage4.5

1973
Genesis Selling England by the Pound3.0
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon4.0

1972
Deep Purple Machine Head4.5
Genesis Foxtrot2.5
Boring. Miles away from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.
David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars2.5
The Rolling Stones Exile on Main St.2.0

1971
Genesis Nursery Cryme2.5
The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers4.0
The first 6 tracks are superb. The rest is average.

1969
The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed3.0
You can't always get what you want - makes this a good album.
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II3.0
The Beatles Abbey Road3.0
Miles Davis In a Silent Way4.5
Confortable. Modern. Refreshing. Some parts remind me Pink Floyd's masterpiece Wish You Were Here (released 6 years later).

1968
The Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet2.5
Only "Sympathy For The Devil" can justify this rating. The rest is non interesting music (that, curiously, often sounds a bit country).
Furthermore, and surprisingly for such a successful band, Mick Jagger voice does not deserve more than an average rating.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Electric Ladyland4.0
Voodoo Chile is a very exciting song. In my perspective this is the best Hendrix record.

1967
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love3.0
Unless you are collecting all Hendrix records, you should buy "Are you experienced", skip this one and then buy "Electric Ladyland". "Bold as love" is on another league - clearly not as good as the other two.
The Moody Blues Days of Future Passed4.5

1965
John Coltrane A Love Supreme3.5

1959
Miles Davis Kind of Blue4.5

1957
Miles Davis Birth of the Cool3.0
Almost boring. Godchild and Rocker songs save this album (the rest is average). My advise is: skip this one and go
directly to the later (and superb) records e.g. Kind of Blue; In a Silent Way.
