Impressive debut. Definite Tool influences though the stark contrasts found in Tool is found less in this album as it is, in general more hard driven. Yet , EIR knows when to back it down in order to layer their riffs. One finds slightly more popularized (dare I say mainstream) sound found in "Glaive" which I still believe is one of the best tracks on the album, along with its counterpart "L.E.D."
These guys need to get their name out there if a strong metal-community like Sputnik does not know them. They deserve some recognition, check them out metal community of Sputnik.
