Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's classic E. 1999 Eternal, named after a fictional street intersection in the "Land of the Heartless", is undoubtedly Bone Thugs' strongest album and indeed a landmark album in rap history. I've never heard a flow quite like that of the Bone family. The speed and articulation of their words makes one truly miss the days of the "old school" when rapping was an art, a skill, or to some, a lifestyle.
E. 1999 also features an interest in the occult as the members rap about Ouija boards and their apparent influence on their fate. E. 1999 is incredibly brutal and completely deserving of the Parental Advisory sticker. First time listeners may be put off by the high amount of violence and drug use expressed through the lyrics, however those whom are fans of gangsta rap and the undeniable talent of a quick rhyme.... I welcome you to the Darkside. |
