AC/DC Black Ice2.5
AC/DC = AC/DC = AC/DC = etc. etc.
Om a musical level I would rate it an average album but on an AC/DC level it probebly would be an 8.
To me Let there be rock and Black in black are geat albums that every rock fan should have. If you like them enough and would get some more pick up Highway to hell and Razor's edge (to pick one from each era). And then you get all the other AC/DC albums some a ltttle bit better than others.
In the Brian are I would place Black Ice right behind the Razor's Edge in the Brian era.

On this album Fish has just left and the band is a bit lost on this release and can't make up their mind if they want to move on or not.
Some songs are clearly written for Fish like The uninvited Gues, The Space and Hooks in You. On other songs like Easter, Holloway Girl and After Me they try to look for a new sound.

At the time Maiden got praised for having the guts to put synth guitars on this album.
At the same time Priest got slayed for doing the same I never got this!
Exept that Maiden player their guitars like they always did and used a synth sound.
Priest on the other hand adapted their guitar playing to the synth sound and used it to create different athmospheres like they did on Turbo Lover.
I don't think Turbo is a better album than SSoaSS tho.
For Priest it was a way of evolving their music an with Maiden it was just a way to sound different without realy changing their music.
To me that makes Priest a much more interesting band to listen to.

This is the last album with their singer Fish and they were not happy anymore with each other.
And that's what makes this album so special because it sounds like everybody in the band tried to show to the others that he was the most important member in the band. So this really brought out the best of each member and resulted their best album I think.

To me on this album Maidens adds the last ingredient to their typical sound namely a poppy element on songs like Sun and Steel and most songs have a real chorus.
Both of these elements were missing from their previous records.
So to me this is the first complete Maiden album.
All their following albums are just weaker repeats from their first 4 albums with some highlights here and there.
But what's even more important this albums ROCKS! unlike for instance Powerslave that sounds like it's being hold together by loose sand, switching from one rif or theme to another with no connection what so ever.
