this album is an ethereal experience that manages to make you feel evanescent in the nicest way. el cielo is one of the smoothest collections of emotions ever to be delivered to the public and is undoubtedly dredg's greatest accomplishment. revolving around the concepts of sleep paralysis and the subconscious thought process all the songs, meldoic vocals and haunting melodies fit together perfectly. and not only does dredg have in its composition of one of the greatest lyricists in music, their original and diverse song configurations and use of unique instruments as well as plethora of music styles span several genres and make the album unbearably and effortlessly beautiful and diverse. scissorlock, same ol' road, the canyon behind her, woah is me...it's hard to pick a few when the whole album is spectacular. |
