Opeth Pale Communion4.0
On first listen this is amazing. Super prog. They have completely done away with the old Opeth sound, and they are now following the amazing albums of Stephen Wilson and Haken. They lost most of their founding members after "Ghost Reveries." They tried to continue their same sound with "Watershed" and that is their worst IMO. They tried to come into their own sound with "Heritage" and they have honed in on it completely with "Pale Communion" How can anyone expect it to be the same Opeth of old, with nearly none of the same members??

Made me see Tosin Abasi in a whole new light. The performance on all instruments is amazing.

Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver4.0
"Minnesota, WI" might be my favorite Bon Iver song. I LOVE "For Emma" and it's definately a different direction, but it's soo good.

Maps and Atlases Perch Patchwork3.0
Idk, It seems more like cast spells than M/A. It seems more vocal based. Not so many CRAZY sick rhythms. That's unfortunate.

Thrice Beggars5.0
Bands best album to date, Dustin's best performance vocaly and lyrically. Classic!
it is a bit too short though.
Victor Villarreal Alive3.0
AMAZING licks as usual, but his vocals and lyrics almost completely ruin how awesome this could have been.
Obscura Cosmogenesis4.0
the fretless bass is meeeeaaaan! it adds a whole new element to the music.
they may have taken some from their obvious influences, but they blend the styles pretty nicely for the most part.
2008
The Faceless Planetary Duality5.0
The Faceless have really outdone themselves with this release, the musicianship is just amazing. Everyone in this band is soo tight with eachother, nothing is out of place, and the creativity is ridiculous. They are going to make some serious news with this.
