Blade of Horus is currently the brain child of Ivan Ellis. Having chanced upon them while scoping out the new Obscura album, I downloaded their debut and decided to give it a spin. From the get go, Ellis wastes no time with the blistering fretwork commonly found in today's tech death fares. He's proficient at scale work, that's for sure. From the second track, influences ranging from Rings of Saturn and The Faceless to deathcore. Plenty of middle eastern scales. Plenty of shred. Plenty of everything we've heard before. |
