This is a masterpiece, pure madness in audio form...exhausting and irritating, but also totally unique and fascinatingly...beautiful (?). And it is certainly not the album to recommend to someone who wants to get familiar with death metal ^^

Like his predecessors this album contains great riffing, ultra low vocals and the overall almost perfect mixture of death and doom...only negative aspect: although you will get used to it, the drums sound, again, like in "Golgotha" and "Nazarene", strangely "muffled" imo

This is the first deicide album i fully enjoyed. They added more melodic elements on some songs, Glenn Benton really stepped his vocal game up for this one AND they reduced the annoying sound effects over his voice to an minimum, which is a big PLUS for me...

I'm starting to explore the genre of black metal and I thought this is a good album to start with...for me, who is not familiar with bm, the production is the biggest point of critique, but yeah I know, I know...nevertheless there are some great songs here though, I like the vocalist, too...I'm starting to find out what is so appealing about this genre, besides the ridiculous facepainting and shit :D darkthrone are next^^

Some great tracks on it, like lunatic of gods creation, the title-track or day of darkness. I would have voted this much higher if it wasn't for benton's mostly mediocre vocals/lyrics layered with way too much annoying effects (dead by dawn, anyone?).
