Ah, this is refreshing, The Beatles... The greatest band from across the universe(tm) and this is the beginning of the Beatles that everyone knows and loves, all of their happy-go-lucky nature has all but drained, and they have put semi-complicated elements into every track of the album. With the exception of the covers, at least. But still! This is the first album that the Fab Four made that the covers didn't detract from the quality of the album. In fact the song "Act Naturally" I thought was an original track until AMG told me differantly those douchebags! But, the song has really cool guitars and George's voice is weird and country-ish (at least I think it's George Harrison, neither me or my mom could decide, oh well) the song is awesome, that's all you have to know, and hey it might be a cover, but they sure know how to play it, it's almost as if they act naturally on it! haha! Hey look what I can do < br > haha

The other cover actually sounds like a cover though. But, still "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" is still a strong track, and finds Mr. Lennon screaming again, rehearsing for his side project, Lennon Belly.

Since covers make me sick to my stomach, I am gonna stop talking to them, even though these covers are like the Burger King of covers. The originals on this album are where it really shines, not one of the originals is short of perfect, and it's kinda annoying. I mean, how am I supossed to be a critic if there is nothing to criticize!!!??? I mean "Ticket To Ride" has it's really cool guitar intro with John Lennon sounding drunk! He sounds ***ing drunk! and "Yesterday" started the band in the direction that they would end up going with on their later albums, Rubber Soul and Revolver! And it's an excellent ballad that everyone in the world knows by heart! No matter who comes into my car, whenever that song comes on, EVERYONE in the car sings along!

A large part of the album isn't these highlights, but rather John Lennon's anal love of Bob Dylan.

Ok... Maybe not anal, but "I've Just Seen A Face" and "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away", my personal favorites on the album have folk guitar! And Bob Dylan sings on them! Serious! Look it up! And he does a damn good job, I mean, he sounds just like John Lennon! But "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" with the acoustic guitar, and the tambourine and the vocal melody, it sounds just like a song that Bob Dylan would write, but with a pop sensibility! Oh god! I just get really happy whenever I listen to this song, which is strange, because it is a depressing song. Maybe. Just maybe. I am a masochist. Who likes being depressed by the Beatles.
