A-1 The Book of Adam | 3.5 |
A-1 After School Special | 4.0 |
This album was my introduction to A-1, and boy what a great first impression!
The production is flawless, and lyrical content stays fresh and upbeat. Don't get me wrong, A-1 can have his darker moments, but as a whole, this is a summer album through and through.
I'm keeping an eye on this one. |
Anathallo Canopy Glow | 3.5 |
This is my go-to album for a quiet rainy night in. Soothing and melodic, a lovely little album to carry you through the night |
CZARFACE CZARFACE | 4.5 |
Feel good music that cuts down competitors from start to finish. A classic. |
Demi Lovato Unbroken | 2.0 |
A huge shift in style for Demi Lovato, one of which I am not a fan.
Gone is the pop-rock princess that we grew to love with her previous albums, and in comes the new dance-r&b-club Demi with disastrous results.
The only gem on this album comes in the form of the single Skyscraper, the only song to really expose Demi's true feelings and not hide behind a fascade. |
Demi Lovato Don't Forget | 4.0 |
A stunner of an album! For a young girl with a powerful vocal ability, this album allows Demi to showcase her talents and doesn't hold her back. |
Demi Lovato Here We Go Again | 4.0 |
A great follow up to Don't Forget. Demi makes no drastic changes to her style, and I don't blame her. Her voice works with the pop/rock mix seamlessly to bring this album to life. |
Eyedea and Abilities By the Throat | 4.0 |
I love this album. Feels fresh and crispy. No further comment necessary. |
Fu-Schnickens F.U. Don't Take It Personal | 4.0 |
Fu-Schnickens Nervous Breakdown | 4.0 |
Humble Pie Smokin' | 4.5 |
Sets a precedent that many modern artists still struggle to achieve. Raw, spirited rock. The minor flaws only help to add character to this album.
Steve Marriott's vocals are impressive. When singing in quieter tones, you can hear him struggling to contain his vocals. There's a voice there desperate to get out, and when he eventually unleashes his roaring chords, they're a majesty to behold. |
Johnny Flynn A Larum | 4.0 |
Little Birdy Confetti | 3.5 |
I enjoy this album a lot. Built up a connection to it when I used it as post-breakup soundtrack. Vocals are beautiful, the music is powerful but never imposes. |
Mac Lethal Irish Goodbye | 3.5 |
Considerably more tame compared to the heart thumping NKBBQ, but still with a couple of memorable tracks. |
R.A. The Rugged Man Legends Never Die | 4.0 |
Thoroughly well produced with a verbal delivery and content to make your hair stand on end.
A couple of questionable features (Hopsin's generic guest verse in particular), but the album meshes well. |
Restiform Bodies TV Loves You Back | 3.0 |
Sandpeople Long Story Short | 4.5 |
One of the only albums I can listen to from start to finish without ever skipping a track. Production = clean and precise, vocals = an eclectic mix of skills. |
Small Faces Small Faces | 4.0 |
Small Faces From the Beginning | 4.0 |
Great classic tracks on this release. Key songs "Whatcha Gonna Do About It"? and "My Minds Eye". Highly recommended for pivotal band of the London music scene of the 60s. |
Styles of Beyond Reseda Beach | 3.0 |
Styles of Beyond Razor Tag | 4.0 |
Sum 41 All Killer No Filler | 3.5 |
This was the most important album of my childhood- the album that EVERYBODY on the playground had to own. I decided to re-listen to it the other day, only to discover that much of the hype that I had retained was merely heightened by a sense of nostalgia.
A much younger me would have rated this album a 5/5. But then again, to a much younger me, everything new to me was the best thing ever for a period of time.
It's a good, solid album, and nice to listen to. Sadly nothing glows |
Tha Alkaholiks 21 & Over | 4.5 |
