For an album trying to tread new waters, it does a good job. As they did in Buzzard this album has a stronger rock influencet; but unlike their last album, some of the edgy tone distracts from the mellow and somber lyrics which makes the album feel less like a Margot and the Nuclear So and So's album. Still, it feels like a fresh new start for the band and fans will still love the cinematic chamber pop the band has been rooted towards to.

The perfect blend of messy, loud rock and quiet, contemplative indie. Worth a listen from a fan of either genre.
