Consistent effort but in my opinion the songwriting remains too predictable and generic.

I don't care what anyone says. This is just Chevelle except without anything that makes Chevelle awesome. No Pete so no unique, captivating vocals. No badass riffs. No cryptic, interesting lyrics. Just generic alt metal that rips off of what other bands did much better years prior while at the same time trying to act like more than that. Scratch that, cause this shit doesn't even sound good as bland background noise. Nothing worthwhile here and, frankly, below mediocre.

This album makes a very feint attempt at adapting some prog rock elements in here but this band is far too comfortable w/ their hard rock & nu-metal roots. If this band doesn't make changes as 10 Years had w/ From Birth to Burial this group might soon come off as being only "above average." A pretty good album but still doesn't hold a candle to Inward/Outward.

A breath of fresh air in the alternative metal scene, which has become increasingly generic and redundant the past few years. Janus does the impossible by coming up with an original album. It is far from perfect, but I didnt think i would ever like an alternative metal album again. So props to Janus
