It kind of says something when the best part about this album is from a guest star (Jason from Letlive). Ed is a really bad singer and the clean vocal parts are overused, whilst the few used on The Kids We Used To Be actually fitted with the songs they were used in. Away from the vocals, the instrumentation is generally poor and reminds me of either rehashed versions of their old stuff (See Born A Snake, then listen to Scared Of The Light off TKWUTB) or poor versions of other bands (Paper Trails sounds like a Blink-182 Enema Of The State early stages reject). Also, Never A Dull Moment is so awful.

I enjoyed this album, although some songs are quite filler-ish (The Colour Of Envy, Push Me Under). The best song by fair is worthless, it sticks mostly to heaviness and screaming throughout the song (with a killer breakdown) but the chorus are a sung, melodic and uplifting. I think this is the style that works best for Your Demise. However I have a soft spot for Never A Dull Moment too.

What the fuck happened to this band? This is album full of filler tracks. Their new vocalist is laughably bad.
For some reason they've also tried producing pop-punk, with disastrous results.

Coming into 'The Golden Age' was a difficult thing to do expecting something "good", from reading others opinions to just general rumors and drama surrounding the group. The pop-punk direction is a sure step back for Your Demise, and even more disappointing is when the more hardcore influenced songs come around, they all sound exactly identical to each other leaving no room to distinguish them from one another. A huge let down.

First impression is that it's disappointing. The band overshot themselves and give the impression that they don't know whether to go punk or to stay hardcore, there are certainly some hardcore moments in the album but there are also so pop punky moments too, and most of the pop punky moments are painfully bad. The separation between hardcore and punk on this album is too stark and therefore doesn't make it nearly as enjoyable or cohesive as their previous releases. The Kids We Used To Be and Ignorance Never Dies blow this album out the water.

i really like this, a lot of the songs on it are really catchy and i haven't been able to switch this album off since i got it. i don't see why everyone is complaining, it isn't an amazing album or anything but it is a decent listen. keeping it a 3.5 for just now but might drop to a 3. this album is well worth a listen.

Very poor compared to their previous records.rThere are some good tunes but I don?t get why the fuck this guy sings so much if he is barely able to do so. rI?ll give this a few more spins but on the first listen very disappointing.

The only parts that stand out are the featurings but they don't help the album being better than average, due to the fact that Ed McRae can't fucking sing.

This album really disappointed me.. Even with some really good guest vocals from the vocalists of Terror and letlive. It did not help it any. Its just really boring in my opinion.
