A true moment of joy! A huge comeback record for Megadeth which has everything we all loved about them from 1984-1990. Great guitar harmonies (even played by Chris Poland again akin to their first two albums), heavy and thrashy riffs and anger/aggression. Songs like Back in the Day are close to sounding like Megadeth in their hayday, but there's still a little to go until they're all the way there.

I listened to this album multiple times this week and I realized that this is a great comeback album. It was obviously trying to get some mainstream success, but the songs display mature songwriting. Not to mention, Dave didn't hide his voice on this one, but it helps the album a bit in my opinion. This actually sounds like a Dave Mustaine solo album, but still sounds a bit like Megadeth. The sound is very unique, which is rare in metal albums. Most of the tracks are enjoyable, so it's get my approval.

The System Has Failed is a respectable, if unremarkable, release from Megadeth. Considering the string of relative clunkers which preceded it, though, this is pretty good. There is a nice amount of bite, and a lot of superb guitar work. Nothing revolutionary, and nowhere near their best work, but worthwhile for fans.

Regarded as the band's "return to form", The System Has Failed is a rather boring record. The first 4 songs are easily the best on here, I honestly don't care much for the rest.

Other than two tracks that felt more like filler than anything, this is a great effort from Megadeth. One or two songs, other than the two aforementioned tracks, felt a little bland to me, but majority of the songs were easy to headbang or tap your foot to.

The System Has Failed is definitely better than the previous average The World Needs a Hero.Blackmail the Universe,Die Dead Enough,Kick the Chair or The Scorpion are very cool songs. The chorus of Die Dead Enough and the track This Day We Fight (from Endgame) are in my opinion the best things Dave did in the last years. Very cool record.

The System Has Failed is the perfect interim Megadeth album; somewhere in between their more commercial oriented route and the overtly technical thrash they began with, The System Has Failed does not only hints at once was and will be, but in itself is a great addition to the Megadeth discography.

Well, I like it.  Much better than 'The World Needs A Hero', anyway. Of Mice and Men just sounds awesome and although some songs don't feel like they should be on this record, it's overall a very well together-put album.

it is like the best album i ever listened, both in sound quality & lyrics wise. in over all the albumis suitable for any mood. for instance lets say tears in a vial and kick the chair have too diffrent touch but its awesome. and on the other hand scorpion and back in the day veryy different tracks but i dont know its just fucking awesome though its not as thrash i expected it would be.

Some people bash the new stuff from Megadeth like as if they were new Metallica. Well, this is the best album from the recent releases of Megadeth and believe me, this is no Saint Anger. The first three tracks ("Blackmail the Universe", "Die Dead Enough", and "Kick the Chair"), as well as "Of Mice and Men", will be classics from this band over the years. The only flaws I can find on this album are the two filler tracks ("I Know Jack" and "Shadow of Deth"), but they fit well with the atmosphere of the album, even though you feel like you've just listened to ten songs. Overall, if you want a good political metal album, but don't like all the mainstream attention achieved from your typical political album, I strongly reccommend this disc.
