Strong 2.5 - Dope Improves upon ,,Life'' while getting back to their Industrial edge.
,,Group Therapy'' shows Dope finally utilizing their Nu-metal sound with improved songwriting and a tad bit better lyricism, but sadly this album still gets dragged down by inconsistency and uncharismatic sound.
While in songs Like: ''I'am'', ,,Now Is the time'' or ''Today is the day'' we can see Dope writting catchier and much more dynamic songs than ever, there are songs like ,,Bitch'', ,,Bring It on'' or ,,Burn'' where the band just keeps on writting these obviously cringeworthy ''tough-guy'' hooks and lyrics, and that just doesn't go well with me. Sadly the whole album really suffers bc. of this inconsistency.
Highlights: ''I Am'' - great catchy nu-metal single with quite obvious linkin park worship,but the layered vocals on the chorus are just great and the whole song has great dynamics, ,,Sing'' - This is what I'd imagine ,,Alice in chains'' would sound like if they were Nu-Metal band, pretty great song tho. ,, Motivation'' - great mix of industrial rock and nu-metal. ,,Today Is the Day'' - Heaviest and probably the most dynamic song on the whole album...really fun one

apparently not many people have heard of this band, but they are worth noting, at least for me. this band brought me into metal after my cousin gave me a copy of it as a gift. i can honestly say that if i were to pick up this cd today, after listening to the metal that i do now, i dont know if i would enjoy it as much as i did then. this album is always good for a play when im too lazy to pick what music i want to listen to and when i want to just sit back and reflect on some of the past. amazing band, check them out if you have the chance.
