Torture proves that Cannibal Corpse can still belt out some awesome death metal despite how far they are into their career. All 5 members are in top form here and Alex Websters basslines are thankfully audible most of the time, which I appreciate because he is extremely talented. The bass solo in "The Strangulation Chair" is awesome.

Torture has some good songs and is bolstered by Alex Lifeson's incredible bass playing ("Encased in Concrete," "The Strangulation Chair"). It's too long, though, and the second half drags.

With hard hitting riffs, aggressive vocal delivery and powerful drumming, Cannibal Corpse continue to showcase their instrumental prowess but still have yet to add anything remarkably new from their previous albums, however that doesn't stop this LP from doing what it was created to do, provide a solid death metal effort that was loud, fast and intimidating.

This brings together everything that makes Cannibal Corpse kick ass. Corpsegrinder’s vocals, crazy tempos and a healthy dose of technicality. Of course, there is more than a passing similarity to their last two albums, but they kicked ass too so fuck you for nitpicking.

Corpse's best in a long time. My favourite Corpse album since The Wretched Spawn, Torture shows them implementing more technical features, especially in the bass and guitar work. Still, variation is a word unknown to these guys, and Paul's drumming is so average.

This was the first CC album to "wow" me, and it still does. Now having "A Skeletal Domain," I think this album is stronger and still has that "wow" factor that I feel "Domain" is missing.
