Undoubtedly this album contributed very much to the band's image and raised it's status to a much higher level. "Got Me Under Pressure", "I Need You Tonight", "Dirty Dog" (although a replica of "Legs") and "Bad Girl" are able to support the classics "Gimme All Your Lovin", "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" and make this one of the 80s top records.

This album drags ever so slightly sometimes, but overall it has enough interesting riffs, a dance-like feel, and variation to keep you engaged through the whole album. Great album definitely worth buying.

Donna Summer was the first to acknowledge that disco and rock guitars should spend some more time together. Van Halen continued that trend with "Beat It" and "Jump". 1983 was a good time for disco and guitars apparently. ZZ Top come with a hard rockin' redneck boogie record, perfect for MTV (it sold 10M records so yeah I guess peepz dug this) with its synths and drum machine (either it's a drum machine, either the dude is real tight and chose a synthetic sound). The best tracks (ofc "Gimme All Your Lovin', "Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs") are pure fun jams to drive to, and while the rest is somewhat uneventful, it's that kind of record that'll never fail pumping you up.

Fun album with some amazing tracks like "Gimme All Your Lovin", "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" and "Got Me Under Pressure". Remaining songs act as good support.

Southern Rock has always been hit or mis with me. There are the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd whom I enjoy greatly and then there are bands like ZZ Top who are a big turn off to me. With their album Eliminator it is the epitome of what I don't like about them. Every song has exactly the same theme. Every song-- white trashy, lazy blues, usually sexually theme lyrics. About every song has that motif. The only thing that saves this from a 1 is clever guitar work. But all in all this band has never broken any ground and just proves them selves as a white trash, sleaze band.
