4.0 excellent | Arrancabigotes | January 23rd 12 | Good dark effected sounds, incredible drums and guitar. Apocalyptic thoughts in my head.

3.5 great | Ignimbrite | January 22nd 12 | Darker, heavy-hitting post-metal with a slightly faster feel than similar bands. The general song structures are best compared to Cult of Luna and the overall atmosphere to Amenra, but for a genre so infamous for having so many of its bands merely ripping off each other and the work of better groups, Nahrayan do some abnormally strong work to separate themselves from the crowd. The blackened, Zao-esque vocals are an especially nice touch to a surprisingly awesome little Bandcamp discovery that could easily end up being one of 2012's better post-metal records. rFor a good summary of the album's sound, check opener "Demons Without Face." - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jFRWPoEpmA
