At first I wouldn't allow myself to like this album as much as I truly do. The '80s are so played out in indie music! Who doesn't use a synthesizer these days? Pop music - but I like ambient and deep house! All ego aside however, this is a fantastic record with pop songwriting at its concise, melodic best. It doesn't hurt that Caroline Polachek has a surprisingly powerful and versatile voice, and that the lyrics aren't embarrassing to sing aloud. Yes, I've been a pop apologist in the past, but that's not the case with Chairlift. I am loving Something loudly and proudly.

I had never heard of this band until they were playing at one of the city's local music festivals. This album turned into a gem. There are just a lot of songs on here that I love. I have several that I really like. By far my favorites though are Frigid Spring and Sidewalk Safari. However, I also like Amanaemonsia, Turning, Ghost Tonight, and Met Before. Most of the other tracks are great as well. Definitely one of my most listened to albums ever.
