Dead Sara rushes out of the gates and into the ring with such immediate force on their self-
titled debut album, that it really seems as if there is nothing that can hold back the
group's amount of sheer hard rock power. Although their first impression may be a very loud
and lasting bang, it can actually at times get a little too absurd and out of
control; so much so that the unhinged intensity can be a little overbearing and kind of off-
putting at first. They make it abundantly clear that you can't put a lid on them, and while
it can be a little much without some set boundaries and regulated limitations giving it some
disciplined focus, and the bold contrast between their heavy alt rock anthems and their very
low-key heart-to-heart cuts can be too large of a leap to take seriously, modern alternative
rock is rarely this hard-hitting, especially from debut albums. Even if them rockin' out on
the album with no holds barred could possibly come at the price of risking deterring some
listeners.
