Lyrically, this album just shows how far this group has declined lyrically. DJ Paul's incessant rhyming the same word, Juicy J's gruff violence, and Crunchy Black's general generic crunk-isms are just boring to read from a lyric sheet, with only Project Pat even occasionally showing off glimpses of interesting lyricism, and that was just before he got REALLY good. One would say this group declined like they were a down south Mobb Deep, considering the drop in lyrical ability, but the fact is Three 6 MAfia are more entertaining than ever. The beats, unlike the plodding piano compositions of Mystic Stylez, are really bouncing and interesting. The way flows together and on their own are excellent, whether it's DJ Paul's rough like sandpaper bark, Juicy J's pulsing , Crunchy Black's singsongy delivery, or Project Pat's lyrically rhythmic blanket, each MC brings something different, but they still manage to come together perfectly. Overall, Most Known Unknown is a good album from a group that only continues to improve musically, but continually declines lyrically.
