2.0 poor | bwomp | December 19th 07 | I usually never complain when a band becomes more "radio friendly" or tries something new. However, in LP's case, it just doesn't suit them well. "Everyday combat" seemed like it could have been ripped straight from "Start Something." However, the rest of the album is undeniably pop. While "Rooftops" is a catchy single, and undoubtedly a good song, it's a shame there is almost no trace of their older sound. When most bands go the route LP is going, they usually try to incorporate a sound that's accessible to new listeners, but still keep it interesting enough that they'll retain the attention of older fans. This isn't the case in "Liberation Transmission."

3.0 good | Damrod EMERITUS | July 13th 06 | Quite epic, very very catchy, an album full of potential singles. But somewhat this records lacks the moments that made Start Something so enjoyable. Some songs sound like Franz Ferdinand rip-offs, others are just a bit too cheesy regarding vocals etc. This is the logic development of the bands sound after Start Something in a way, not the one I wished for though

2.5 average | Progamuffin | August 24th 17 | Surprisingly, as much as I wanna hate this for trying to sound more accessible I actually find this more danceable approach slightly better than their previous album.

3.0 good | Jones | July 21st 11 | Has some decent moments on it, but is too much on the poppy side.

2.5 average | soldier0cross | January 20th 10 | I was never fully sold with Liberation Transmission, it had really radio friendly catchy tunes. But if you had become accustomed to TFSoP which was closer to a poppy nu metal feel and the perfectly balanced of the two Start Something, Liberation Transmission seemed so much more washed out and "cutesy". That being said the album has a couple nice points on it and its not bad. Its just not very good.

4.0 excellent | DaveyBoy EMERITUS | January 7th 10 | Lostprophets look to consolidate on their trans-Atlantic success by poppifying their catchy hard-rock on 3rd LP 'Liberation Transmission'. Slickly produced by Bob Rock, they tone down their aggression & musical technicality, but this can be overlooked when you have tracks like anthemic sing-along 'Rooftops' & melodic 'Can't Catch Tomorrow'. Even the non-highlights are made memorable with infectious choruses. It needed more variety to match 'Start Something', but with so many involving call & response vocals, it's another enjoyable fist-pumper of epic proportions. Recommended Tracks: Rooftops, Can't Catch Tomorrow, 4:AM Forever & Everyday Combat.

2.5 average | NovaSilver | June 2nd 09 | An album apparently made on auto-pilot. The vast majority of the songs feel like the band has taken a serviceable musical element, be it a decent riff, some gang vocals, maybe a bit of screaming possibly chuck in a memorable chorus line or two and then chucked it into some kind of song machine which then turned out a song. Even the guitar solos are pretty interchangeable. These songs don't have their own atmospheres because they're built with the same elements and structures and though each one makes for a perfectly alright single track an entire album worth gets stale. A couple of songs (Everyday Combat, A Town Called Hypocrisy) benefit from conscious efforts to create a certain sound a little outside the norm but as for the rest, there's not a bad song on here (in fact there's not even a single bad moment, though occasionally the vocals dive into straight out nasal whine) but there's not a great one either. This problem was present on Start Something but to a lesser degree as the songs sounded fresher and heavier. Next time guys, please pay attention to what you're doing.

3.0 good | industrialjunkie92 | August 10th 08 | The album's good for the first half but then decends into unexciting and bland tracks that sound like the first hlaf, just less likable.

0.0 | ThyCrossAwaits | April 25th 08 | These guys are in no way metal, but this album is pretty good. Catchy and creative, but slightly cookie-cutter. Recommended: Can't Catch Tomorrow, Everyday Combat, Rooftops

2.0 poor | Sweetness | February 28th 08 | My oh my, where to start.
I was soo disappointed by this album, not the follow up I expected.
Hm, I don't mind lighter, bouncier stuff, but this was too poppy and not at all the Lostprophets I love.
I really look forward to the next album.

2.0 poor | Xtina | November 22nd 06 | This was the first Lost Prophets album I got... I don't think I'll ever buy another! The first 2 songs are ok but the rest of the CD is just completely pop! The songs all sound way too similar but hey, I guess thats why its called pop

3.0 good | guitarchick90 | November 22nd 06 | this album didn't really make me think " wow this band might really have somthing here". I think maybe 5 songs out of this whole CD i liked and that was it, there was one song that jumped out at me it was callled "Broken hearts, torn up letters, and the story of a lonely girl" I also really liked the single " Rooftops". I figured this album was good enough for a 3 but not bad enough for a 2 or 1 and not good enough for a 4 or 5 but hey that's just my opion.

3.5 great | raab | October 14th 06 | This a great album. It is not classic or excelent. I personally don't think it compared with the previous albums, "The fake sound of progress" and "Start something". The vocals have dramatically improved, although there is a much more poppy sound compared to the existing mainstream rock, (progressive)? dare i say sound they had. I don't know what to expect from these guys next but if they keep going in this direction i'm afraid i'm gonna stop listening to them. Start something and fake sound of progress really got me into the whole music scene. Thanks lost prophets. This puts me off it frankly.

5.0 classic | spincer182 | October 11th 06 | Good review at times but i have to disagree, Liberation Transmission is a great album and miles part from the previous two.
Ok, its different, but aren't bands allowed to grow these days. You say you can here Rip Off of other bands, aren't bands allowed to wear their influences proudly on there sleeves?
This album is a breathe of fresh air from all the pop sh*t that surfaces these days, it has a certain element of pop to it but not too much to turn you away.
IMHO, this album is awesome.

0.0 | craigy2 | October 9th 06 | This is an album that was obviously designed to appeal to pop fans. This is an album, where in my opinion Lostprophets sold out. Big time. Despite being generally a horrible pop album, there are good moments on it. Favourite Songs:Everyday Combat, Rooftops, Broken Hearts...
